egr blockoff?? with single
quick question on egr blockoff.
I am changing over my single turbo manifold from the hks cast to the stainless version. it places the turbo up a bit higher and now the exhaust housing on the turbo is hitting where the egr blockoff plate is. I was running block off plates on everything.
my question is does any air or exhaust still run through the lower intake manifold when I have all emissions stuff removed? do I really need a block off plate or is it ok to grind off where the egr mounted, or do i need to have that welded up?
thanks,
James

Twin Turbo LSX
Allmotor,
I also have a T78 and my EGR block off was in the way of the downpipe. Actually the downpipe didn't look like it would fit even with the block off plate off. I had my lower intake manifold powdercoated with the plate in place, so I really couldn't take it off without screwing up my finish. I beat in my downpipe with hammer to make it work temporarily. I'm going to have a custom stainless downpipe fabbed to correct the problem.

If anyone wants to know the answer to the question I found out lastnight. Yes some exhaust still runs through the lower intake manifold even when all the emmissions are removed. This just means since I took a grinder to part of the casting I need to take it off and have it welded up now.
