We are building a new block for the car and once it is in we will do it again and see how it goes.
I think if anything we will see the 42 make alittle more power then the efr and we will see an even bigger difference in spool between the 2 turbos.

If i had to sacrifice 20-30rwhp for another 1500rpm of spool, i know which I would take.
Only time will tell i guess.

Hopefully soon so we won't have to read any more sh-t about off-topic Subaru comparisons

Any updates? Did you try the new block yet? Great thread, thanks for sharing this

No we have not. Customer is stoked with the car and is just giving it a hard time. When it does happen we will run it up and again and ill keep you posted.

When it comes to spool, the GT/GTX42 has nothing on the borgy for response VS power. Different leagues altogether.

Thats what it looks like. Although I imagine it makes traction on street tires much more difficult. I've seen people describe the onset of boost on these BW turbos as "violent"

I can only speak from my experience with my tiny EFR 7670, but the faster boost onset/recovery made my car easier to drive.
It didn't suddenly go from no torque below 3,000rpm to full torque at 4,000rpm.

Even rate of acceleration through the rpm range means less wheelspin.

Its that crazy late spool that makes tires fry in my experience.

I think there are many variables. Mitsu evos have been having Precision turbos spool as good as efrs.

I have not tried the 9180 yet but we are making consistent 580-600whp @ only 19-20psi on gtx4202 1.15ar half ridge e70. 700whp at 29psi .

I'd like to tune a 13b with 9180 and get some data
