Efr8374 On fd

Hey fellas so I just ordered a borg efr 8374 External gate as I was talked out of iwg
On my application as it's a race car. Due to heat and temps ect so I have gone ahead and brought a 60 mm turbosmart wastegate and have been shopping for a manifold I have now been told I need to go duel gates due to boost creep dramas and that I maybe should of gone iwg if this is the case and I need duel where do I get a manifold of the shelf and how hard isnit to get sent to aus and do u get raped at customs and suppliers and info would be great cheers in advance

Call in, ask for Geoff, and tell him Ryan sent you.

Larger Wastegates can expel more exhaust gases and therefore hold a lower boost threshold. Totally depends on how hard you plan on running this car. Dual TiAL MVR 44mm is what I'd do with a 4 Port MAC controlling them. You could ramp up boost any way you want and with a flex fuel e85 setup, could really crank it up while maintaining safety on the motor.

The Full Race FD manifold has poor wastegate priority.

I wouldn't use that if I was worried about boost creep.

However, I found you can also go too far on wastegate priority-

For MY FC I modified an old FD HKS T04Z manifold modified for dual 44mm Tial wastegates.

In this case I had too much wastegate priority/too close to the exhaust port and could not keep boost up as Exhaust Manifold Pressure went up.

I would have had to run dual port wastegate line routing to keep the boost up.

I just let the boost fall with rpm which you may want to do as well if you are racing as it is easier on the engine.

I can build you either a manifold/downpipe or complete turbo kit. I used either dual Tial 38mm or a single 44mm wastegate. My manifolds have no boost control issues and a lifetime warranty against cracking. The key is properly runner length and wastegate placment. Many focus on bling factor. I focus on what works.

Iwg is actually preferred for a track car as ewg requires a lot of maintenance ( wg diagrams is a common failure point, even the wgs themselves on extreme cars).

If you need less than 15 psi on the bigger turbos , porting the iwg has proven a successful solution to lower boost on the iwg turbine housings.

We have 50 kits in stock.

I have IRPs single WG manifold and have no problems with holding 10 psi.

I personally like a simple single WG setup.

if its a race car, is it running pump gas only? If you have some way of suppressing knock (E85, race fuel, meth/water injection), just run a higher boost wastegate spring and you don't need so much wastegate flow.

Figured I'd chime in because not too many people have the Full-Race manifold, although I'm about 3 years late. I ran it for years and boost control was great in my experience. No creep whatsoever.

Yes, might have been a touch late with your resurrection. For the purposes of the original point raised, the fabricated HKS manifold, might be ok for the occasional blast on road, it definitely doesn't stand up to race conditions. You'll be resurfacing that turbo flange face every few meetings if doing races longer than 20mins and get a couple more when they're less, so I'd preference the casting every time.

Didn't encounter any boost issues with dual 44s modified manifold here, it was set up somewhat different to that arrangement however.

I will be giving Full Race manyfold a try soon. I will try 10 psi to see if it creeps.

Anytime you have poor waste-gate placement you must over compensate with bigger gates. Manifold in question has twin 44mm gates, I've never seen one creep.
