An Early XMAS Present for my BRO.

XMAS is coming a little early for my brother.
His FD is getting a major makeover. Jenny Jones style.
And i'm the lucky one who has to do it.

I've been tripping over his parts for the past year and i figured i might as well put them in his car and get it over with.

Here's whats going in:

Turbo:
Garrett GT35/40 kit
Custom Spearco Intercooler

Custom Fuel system consisting of:
Aeromotive Elimanator fuel pump(big boy!)
-10 line feed/ -8 Return
Aeromotive FPR
Aeromotive Pro-series S/S Filter
Custom Fuel Sump
850cc primary/1600cc secondary injectors
And an assorted collection of Aeroquip fittings

Ignition:
DIS2 (trailing)
Digital 6 (leading)
Both will be replaced with Autronic 500R CDI
Blaster SS coils

Engine Management:
Autronic SM2 (currently running e6k but yanking it out!!!)

Anyhow i figured i'll post up some pics for you guys to enjoy.

Amazing.. he has all of those parts just sitting there.

On a side note.. what don't you guys like about the E6K? Or are you just trying something different? What do you expect to gain from the Autronic?

There's many things i don't like about the E6k but i don't really want to get into it here. PM me.

Anyhow i've been running an Autronic SM2/500R in my FC for quite some time.

25-30 lbs of boost on the 35/40? I have never heard of anyone attempting this. I would think it would be wayyyy out of the compressors efficiency range, not to mention the hotside choking all of the cfm you'd be stuffing into the motor. Oh well give it a go

There are a few cars I know of running more then 30 lbs. of boost on a GT35R with great results.
Here is a link of one such car.

how about on a 13b glass man? We all know 30 psi on a 2l is much different cfm wise than 30 psi on the 7. and what are the spec differences between the 35r and the 35/40? im guessing just a bigger compressor.

As far as 13B's, I don't know of any off hand. Most drag rotaries use a much larger turbo, I don't know of anyone that runs 30 psi on a street driven 13B.
A GT35R and GT3540 (GT35/40) are one in the same, just known around most parts of the world as the GT35R, or a GT35 hotside with GT40 compressor.
This MR2 Uses the same turbo for over 600 rwhp@27psi

There are also a few Supra's and Skylines that use GT35R's (some in twin setups) that put out some big power at high boost.

Well give me a couple of weeks guys and i will let you know first hand what this turbo is capable of. If it's not capable of 500rwhp i will be taking it out.

It's more then capable of 500 rwhp, depending on modifications, and state of tune, you're looking at 22 psi (+/- 2 psi)
This is the larger 700hp version correct? Are you getting it dyno tuned, and if so when are you getting numbers?
I think it would be rather foolish just to "take out" the turbo if it falls short of a hp goal. If you so surely wanted 500 rwhp, I would have went with a T66, T78, or T51. Something that would meet that goal a little more easily on a 13B. Though none of them would offer you the quick spool or the powerband that the Garrett GT series would.
What is the cars main use?
Street, Drag, Road, a combination?

Can't wait to see the pictures and hear about the progress.
Mine looked like this a few weeks ago.

It's slowly progressing, but I'm waiting on a few parts and for the weather to get a little warmer.
