I thought Tony hit 602.1whp though?

Charlie- Your FD is amazing, very nicely done and SUPER clean. Probably the cleanest FD I have ever seen. Congrats on that number though. I wanted to ask you for a ride in the FD, but you are not very far from me.

Not saying you dont have a higher trap but what was your 60 ft time? Also zinx and i run almost identical times and he has more hp but slightly more trap but a little higher et.

Plus no two dynos read the same im sure if i tried i could find one that says i have over 500 h/p. I have known people that do just that find the most liberal dyno.

I will not overstat anything i have no reason. And the car weighs about 2800 lbs.

Dont get the wrong idea i understand what your saying. But the dyno operator is not new at this and uses a dyno-pac which is not considered a high reading dyno.

Thanks and pull that box out those things are heavy.

And i am running a 20 lb spring so you could say i dont turn it but one direction.

the 602.1whp car ran on straight mad dog 20/20. 60 lbs of boost. for cereal.
also- charlie's UIM was just as cold as Gohan's after the pulls and he was using meth.

rowtareh- you better be ready for a ride with charlie, he doesnt hold back at all. he's got old man confidence on his side.

Mad dog and heineken!

The 602.1whp is a joke. All of us were busting Eric's ***** wanting Tony/Gohan's FD to hit that. He hit 504whp and then the clutch started slipping.

And I am ready for a ride with Charlie. I was in a 424rwhp FD, I am ready for more!

You almost hit THAT MAGIC 500 MARK on pump on a relatively small turbo. YOU JUST SET A NEW HIGH WATER MARK!!!!!!! AND Lots of people are going to want to match your results now!!!!

I'm definately not hating on you. I use to have a large street ported 13brew with a 62-1 that I ran at 18psi on pump and 20+ on race. I up-graded to a T-61 and had it tuned to 24 psi. My FD was built and tuned by one of best. I consistantly whooped *** on cars that had 50-75 more paper hp than mine.

If you ever seen busted7's car, the workmanship and the know how that has went into it. You would never think it would put down any less hp. I should have stayed a little longer too watch it.

I didnt think you were you sound like me this is fun so why screw it up by getting all butt hurt over something that you cant really know for sure! If i go higher its turbo plus alot of stuff thats only 8 months old!

I hope no one tries matching my numbers that dont know what there doing, like me it could be ugly!

Im sure if crispeed posted here he would know others with more h/p on pump gas. I have read were he says its done quit often.

I would also like to say i didnt post here to brag or bigshot i was just proud to be able to say what it did. Only the motor was built by others i have built or installed everything from the bumper to the diff. and did it my way good or bad.

Thanks again.

Based solely on the porting and the 62-1, I would expect less hp. Now this is not saying anything disparaging about the workmanship and the know how.

Yes, you can get 500+ on pump with a much larger turbo. As far as I know, You are the first to come even that close with a 60 series turbo on pump w/o aux. ing.

I've examined my head, and I definately have an issue with "true hp" versus where this dyno or that dyno reads hp at. Sorry to take it out on your thread, especially as you were not here to "brag or bigshot". I was also way off with my 420 estimate, which is inadequate to acheive your 127mph trap speeds.

Regardless of what the true hp is, it is impressive that you have routinely pushed that much PSI from that turbo through that motor on pump gas. It is a testament to the integrity of the whole system, from its initial build to it's continued maintenance. Nice work!!!! I really mean it!!!!

Thanks i agree there are some things that dont quite seem right but the air temps, water temps, oil temps and the engine its self run alot cooler than any rx7 i have ever seen and i cant quite tell you why but at the dyno section everyone can tell you it does not get hot. Even the water temps seem cold as well i have stock thermostat and on the trip there it never got over 170 degrees even on the hills.

The ceramic coating on the turbo still looks almost new after 8 months.

I figured with it running that cool it would be ok to raise the boost so i put it to 20 psi and have so for eight months The first day at the track 10.87 the last day at the track 10.90 so its consistent.

Steve Kan and Steve the owner of tuxedo park racing have been tunning and useing the dyno for years with good results. And zinx was tunned there and made a little over 500h/p and we run the same time with in a few 100's.

Oh well im very pleased with the car and always enjoy meeting all the guys in St Louis.

So how much PSI did Steve tune it for? I am suprised he was ok doing it on pump gas. Most tuners do not want to push the edge...
All you need is 400 rwhp, great suspension setup, the right gear, tire and driver to go 10.XX's in an FD. The other 100 rwhp really isn't needed.

At 2800 lbs with 400 h/p and all things perfect the calculaters say 11.14 so you would be almost right on.

But i dont cut 1.30 60's i cut 1.52.2 60's

I know i could set up the car to be faster on the track but i would lose driveability.

and im not so fast on the shift as the clutchles trannies.

Stock axles and suspension.

So im loosing 94 h/p in bad driving!

But your right with not much more than 400 h/p you could go in the tens.

They are jhb coatings!

The seals are rx7 specialties seals! [3 mil]

Steve Kan estimated max at 500 h/p for the 62-1 96ar.
