dual weber blowthrough?
ok, first, for the love of God don't bring efi into this discussion.
thank you.
now, lots of people have blownthrough a 48ida, has anyone done it to a dual say 40 setup?
i'd like to try something off the wall.
any reason it wouldn't work?
i'm just wondering if there'd be any strange sort of porportioning issues with the 2 carbs.
thank you.

The only issue will be constructing a proper box, and blocking off the choke. For the box it should 130% of the engine volume, at a minimum. And the air should enter the box at a right angle to the carbs. It should also be place directly between the two carbs.

thanks for the help.
that's exactly how i envisioned it, a box around the the sidedrafts, with an intake coming in from the top in the middle.
my only question is regarding the volume of the box. you know the carb hats some people use with rotary shack turbo nikki setups, among others, those certainly aren't 130% of the engine volume, are they just less than optimal?
also, were'd you get your math? (aka, 130%)?
that's exactly the kind of reply i was hoping for, thank you.

do a search, cartech had a kit just like that. i was looking for info on something else, and ran across pics of exactly what you're looking for.
oh edit that, they used a pair of 48ida's

The %130 has come from my researching blowthrough systems, and also plenum sizing. The first car I set up had a very small bonnet and had horible drivability issues, I used the %130 rules on the same car for the second box, and the problem was cured.
