Haltech owners help. Possible $15 knock control?

I know this forum gets alot more traffic than the Haltech one. Alot of you also have Haltechs, and might be interested in knock control. Checkout this post, let me know if you can help.

This is from the wolf section.....

https://www.rx7club.com/wolf-3d-125/knock-retard-483229/

I think this is an issue that must be address asap.

I had some correspondence with john at J&S. I asked for the multi channel retard... but nothing materialised. as is, the J&S IMO is unsafe.... cos if your split is like 5 deg, and the J&S retards only the leading.... your trailing will be firing BEFORE your leading....

Any feed back?

I emailed haltech to see if the Ignition Trim pulled both leading and trailing or just leading. If the trim is just for leading then, I'll be in the same boat as all the J&S users.

Can anyone with E6K and trim module help me out?

I already have a simple RC circuit mocked up. I need a little more info to determine the final values for the resisitors and capacitor.

1) What amp draw does the trim input wire to the ECU take?

2) What voltages correspond to the 0 to -8 timing values? 0-2.5V or 2.5-5V?

These could be tested by hooking up a trim module (10k potentiometer) and utilizing a multimeter.

In the first hook the multimeter up in series with the signal wire, monitoring current.

For the second just look to see what output voltages correspond to the pulling or the addition of timing.

If you could help with this is would be much appreciated. I plan to post all the info I get on the forum, so everyone has access to $15 knock control.

Thanks,
Justin

Well regards voltage, the trim table for a wolf is from 0-4.96V. This seem to be preety standard on all ecu s ive seen. The compensation table is charted AD Volts Vs Degs BTDC ie retard....

does it help ?

Thanks for responding.

I know the range of the trim is from 0-~5V. I assume that this is split in half for advancing and retarding. I just need to know what voltages correspond to the 0 to -8 timing values? 0-2.5V or 2.5-5V?
