10 or 14psi spring. the spring is 50 bux, might as well spend it on the right one once.

If my goals are 400+whp running 14psi for the street and 16-18 for race. Should i just get the 14psi spring and run that with a boost controller off. and when i want to run more just turn it up then? Would that in the end be better then running a 10psi spring and raising the boost to 14 psi and 16+?

the 50mm is the racing wastegate right?

I would suggest the 10psi spring. In my opinion it's always better to have a lower boost level spring in your wastegate. And since you aren't going to be running really high boost then the 10psi spring will be just fine. Just my .02 though.

thats true, would the 10 hold up to 18 when im ready for it tho?

 

So i bought myself an HKS 10 psi spring.

Hopefully this will satisfy my needs for the time being. I might hook up the boost controller again, this time with silicon lines, and set it for 11-12 psi.

This will be sufficient for 18 psi right? should be...whats the theory...2.5x over the spring rate?

 

Yeah, 18psi will be no problem for you with the 10psi spring. The problems happen when people run 4 or 5psi springs and try to hit 25-30psi.

Well im just waiting for my 10 psi sprring to come in. im slapping it on the car and my friend is taking it to his school to dyno it and check to make sure the afrs are safe. then we'll see what hte ebay turbokit puts out at 10 pounds!
