custom twin setup
Im thinking of doing something different and Im trying to get some opinions. I have access to a custom twin manifold and Ive been trying to decide on which turbos to go with. Ive been told to go twith either the t3 super 60's or gt28r's. I can get both foreat price. I was also considering t04b's but i was told they were too big. Im looking for a high rwhp setup. I just recently sold my t04r turbo kit, and with its 1.32 a/r I didnt mind the lag, so its really not that big of an issue for me. Im looking for between 550rwhp-650rwhp for the track. This car gets driven maybe once a week on the road. Any ideas? By the way its a 93. I know twins are the best idea and its a bitch to get done and done right but again I want something different as I do shows occasionally as well, and it helps out buisness.

Why are you going with twins? That's too much work. You could get 550-650 rwhp from a properly-tuned single, not to mention keep it streetable. Remember that all turbochargers have some sort of lag, whether you feel it or not .

Twin GT2835's (or whatever they call them now) can hit 600hp at the wheels relatively easy.
To make more, we're talking stratospheric boost, more than pump gas can handle.

well the gt28/35's are hks turbos, different then the garretts. The garrett I was looking at was a t28r turbo. Im seeing a ton of different hp#'s on it so Im not sure what to believe. I was talking with innovative turbo and they suggested something along a t3/t4 line

The GT2835 turbo, I believe, is derived from a Garrett unit.
I think the HKS turbo you mentioned falls under ITS' suggestion. I'm not sure though, since I don't have any dimensions.

Howard Coleman just made up a twin setup with T04's though I am not sure which. From preliminary results I had heard it sounded like very impressive results would come from it. You should PM him.

I'm looking at a similar twin turbo setup but I'm not looking for those HP's.
More like 350-400 hp.
Main reason is that I still have 2 Garrett T3 45" turbos lying around, doing nothing. They need to berebuild but are reliable items from my poitn of view.
Piping work is not a main issue. My neighbour has an automatic TIG gas welding machine for steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
The T3's have an internal wastegate (they come from a 1600cc OEM car) so that saves some money on external wastegate setups (I will put adjustable wastegates on (just not external)
Engine management would be a Halltech E6K

What will you use as engine management? How can you separate the vacuum circuits? because on the manifold all lines come back to 1 nipple, so if 1 of the turbo's is going wrong it's more difficult to see.
Is there a rule on the lenght of the exhaust manifold piping towards the turbo. I mean lenght vs torquespecs (like for NA engines)
