Coolant Temps while racing - What rad?

hey guys,
looking for another rad. I had a triple pass Ron Davis rad that was amazing untill it blew for no reason. Rov Davis will no warrenty it so I am looking for another really good rad. Wondering what you guys are useing. I am trying not to spend the huge bucks again on the rad. I was thinking KOYO but not sure if that will hold up well. Is K2RD still in business? thanks guys let me know!

Im using a Griffin, it's a custom set-up, I have "blueprints for it, I could probably find. It features an AST, and is roughly 24x24. It is mounted at about a 70* angle, so the bottom is even with the front subframe. I see temps of ~200-210 after 1/2 hour road racing at ~80* ambient. That is with two stock oil coolers, and very good venting, on a small ~300rwhp wet turbo set-up. Check member cars at Teamfc3s.org go to the forum section behind the pit wall, you'll see a thread called "car of the year", click on my name, then click on photos. Double click to enlarge the photos. Carl

I am really up against it trying to finish my car for an event, so it may be a little while before I can get the blue print found. AWR has some very nice bolt in radiators for ~400.00 Check them out before going custom. IMHO, CUSTOM SUCKS, I've spent a stupid amount of hours, and over built the car to a silly level. I could have spent half the money, and been racing a year ago, with nearly as good a car. Live, and learn, plus it is very nice, but what a PITA!

I hace a KOYO radiator and has help up great in my FD.
But have not really pushed it hard enough for it to actually blow, which I doubt it.
You should give it a try.

When I'm done Actually, basicly, I do a "tech line" for people exploring upgrade options already. BTW, do I know you? Ie, have we met, Jeff? The answer to your question is when I know that the theory actually proves out, and is reliable. All the engineering in the world is worthless if it does not really perform in real world conditions. Since everyone is starting from different places, it is usually best to talk to each person individually about their goals/applications/funds, and then go from there. I also need to balanceFamily, and work with all this. If I had spent as much time working on the car, as I sopend talking I'd be done LOL. As for the radiator, in an FD you are pretty limited. IMHO, in an FC, there are bigger better choices, some of which I mentioned. Regards, Carl

I'll try to scan, and post the blueprint tonight, otherwise I will measure it up. The big deal is that it incorporates an AST system for FCs. The AST tanks are widely available, and it increases the capacity of the system, since you essentiallyhave two overflow tanks.
