compressor a/r's (not hotside)
So did a search, nothing really conclusive popped up any ideas?
We all debate endlessly about the exhaust (hotside) a/r's with some going big, some small, some divided etc, etc, etc.
but I have not noticed any real discussions about the compressor hsg a/r (or maybe I missed it while searching).
My questions are such what is the difference in spool, and top end between a .50, .60, and .70 compressor housing on any given turbine?
for discussions sake lets examine a standard to4e with the following specs:
57 trim compressor
.60 comp hsg
"P" trim ex wheel
.84 divided ex hsg
and compare it against the same hotside with the only difference being a .50, and a .70 comp hsg.
I personally have always gotten what the local shop reccomended, however most of them are useing whatever the maker puts out and works, and as we all know there is a difference between works, and works well.
Being that ordering cutom turbos in the states is easy, I would rather be creative and get what works well, not just what works.
Please constructive comments only none of the my buddies, cousins, sisters boyfriends crap. If you have some ideas, or better yet some actual experience than please chip in.
