...still searching for the dealer with the lowest possible prices for the 1600 and 2000cc versions...

Most offer them for nearly the MSRP, not what i would call a good deal...

Your not going to find "deals" on low production specialty injectors.

There has been a few companys pop up that sell ID injectors for WAY cheaper than ID sells them for. TO-SLOW on RCC was selling them but ran out. There is a place selling them now, that was on honda-tech but i cannot find them. I agree ID is way over priced but at this stage in the game they can be...

I noticed on the t1 race development site that they show only the 1600's for vehichle specific applications on the honda and mitsubishi platforms only. I see the normal 1600's, but what is the difference? Can I just buy the 1600's and use them on the FD with PFC; even though there is no "vehicle specific" link like the 725's ?

...afaik the 1600' are available from ID in an fd-specific app, so you should ask if the honda/mitsu-versions are 100% identical to the fd-specific ones, but i doubt that.

As stated a few posts earlier, the f-specific injectors are direct plug-ins - no resistors, no need to change connectors - direct fit-in.

EDIT: just had a look at the t1 homepage, i guess it's just incomplete, as there are definitely 1600 injectors for the fd available...

Those were more of the "same as" ID injectors, but they are NOT. What makes them ID injectors is the testing/matching process based on flow AND deadtime. This is even more important with larger injectors, because very low pulsewidths will be used for idling/cruising.

From T1:

"There are lots of rumors floating around (put out there by other guys that sell injectors) that other people have the same injectors as our ID2000, they're just not matched by the same process. This is correct, except the rest of the rumor is that the consistency from Bosch is so good that our dynamic matching process doesn't have any benefit. Unfortunately, this is far from the truth.

This is a deviation vs. pulsewidth chart for every 10th injector out of a batch. You can see that while static flow variance is pretty good, there is quite a spread at 2msec pulsewidth, where much of the life of the injector is spent and where you really see and feel a difference from cylinder to cylinder variations. About a 2% spread at static flow (which is where most people have the ability to test halfway accurately) and as much as a 13% spread at 2msec. Do you think a 13% variance from cylinder to cylinder at idle and part throttle will make a difference in how a car runs?

Here's a matched set of 6. It looks like there are only 4 lines on the graph, but there are actually 6, some are just so similar they pretty much overlay. "

When one purchases a set of ID injectors, is a chart like the second one included?

It would be awesome because with "individual cylinder trim" options available on any decent ECUs, a user could really get as accurate/nit-picky as they like.

so the matching would be beneficial for those using these as primaries to tune idle easier but would make no difference in the secondaries as they start at higher duty cycles...

so for someone keeping the 550 (or 850 in primary) and only getting secondaries, a lower cost alternative would be fine, yes?

Expect a particular type of answer to that question when speaking to an injector vendor.

If you're over 60% duty cylce on your secondaries at all times, and your lower cost supplier can provide all the accurate data, by all means go for it.

My problem comes in when somebody uses another's hard work to sell their product and they really have no expertise in the field..

For the ID2000's they have two lengths listed, a 48mm and a 60mm. Which one would you use for which application?

I got my 2000cc Bosch injectors for $330 from http://fuelinjectorconnection.com. Vosko found them on their website for me so I called to see if they were the same thing that ID sells for $480. The guy at Fuel Injector Connection told me hes been in the injector business for 20+ years and that his 2000cc injectors are the same Bosch part number that ID sells for $150 more.

They were also able to supply the correct Denso donut so that no spacer is necessary.

Most aftermarket RX-7 fuel rails are set up for the 60mm long injectors.

I have read that it is possible to fit the 48mm's in the primary location, however they probably wouldnt work in the secondary location (not sure if anyone has tried).
There is really no reason not to just use the 60's all around since thats what most rails are set up for!

As to the 48mm application, they are most likely finding their way into newer piston powered engines..

Cheers,
Alex

Wait, how many FIC's are there?

Either way, see above post (#61) to know why ID's are superior, and how both FIC's are not "the same as" ID, only cheaper..

Ok, the injector that ID and FIC order from Bosch are the same part number. The top they put on and the testing they do is different.

I am happy with how my injectors from FIC perform and I am happy I saved $150.

T1 sent the wrong denso donut with my injectors so they did not fit the LIM properly. I didn't mention it because I believe it might have been an isolated incident. I probably wouldn't have had any issue if I ordered them from an RX-7 specific vendor.

I returned the ID2000s because before T1 had resolved my fitment issues I already received the FIC injectors for $150 cheaper.
