Coming along nicely...

Well, i guess it's time to let the cat outta the bag!

This has been a long project of mine...but the past few months, I've been trying to wrap things up.

Here are just a few pics of the motor...hopefully will have it dropped in this weekend.

Lots more goodies as well.

Enjoy!

THanks!
The UIM, LIM, and Water pump housing are all powdercoated glossy black.
Manifold and DP are ceramic coated. Turbine housing is HPC coated, and the compressor housing, TB, and Elbow are polished.

Yep! Custom Manifold, came from Justin at www.alienauto.com
He did a hell of a job!
Turbo is a Garrett T04R, P-trim, 1.32 exhaust A/R.
Pulleys are the Mazda Racing Serpentine belt kit.

I appreciate the compliments!

WOW!!!! That looks incredible!! You are running a HUGE A/R on that turbo. What kind of porting do you have done to the motor? And again, that looks great!! How soon do you plan to have it in the car?

Very nice work, and good luck at the track, dyno etc. Just curious though, what is HPC? I was guessing its something similar to ceramic coating but would like to be sure because I have never heard of it. I sleep so much that I miss things.

It is hard to tell from the pics but (and I'm not criticizing here) if the front wastegate runner isn't crossing over that exhaust port enough you may have some issues with it being too close to the exhaust port. Has he made this manifold run on other cars yet? I ask because I want to be wrong.

I was wondering the same thing. Not sure exactly how much clearance there is with the stock FD hood, but I know it ain't much. Nice looking engine! I don't want to assume anything, so I'll ask "What make and model car are you dropping this into?"

Thanks guys!
This motor is a Half-Bridgeport performed by BDC. (mad props for the job he did!)
It is going in my 89 TII. the FD UIM, TB, and elbow are adapted to the motor through a port matched aluminum adaptor.
The manifold is a complete "one off" made for my setup. I will check out the WG runner, but I'm pretty sure it has a good clearance to it. The manifold was made in this fashion due to my car still having ABS.
I'll be running a Haltech E6X.

Oh, and HPC is a coating similar to Ceramic coating, I believe mine is good up to about 16-1700 degrees or some crazy number.

I'm not concerned about clearence. Be sure the wastegate runner crosses a good amount over the exhaust port, if it is just tacked on the side of the primary without being somewhat directly in the path of the port (when that close to the port) it will be very hard to get the air at that velocity to make the turn out the primary into the secondary runner. Relying more on high manifold pressure which creates other problems.

Oh, I see what you are saying. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think. I value your opinion for sure Sean.
I took a look at the runner from the Exhaust flange and it looked to be in a pretty good spot, I think it crosses over enough, but I'm definitely no expert...

Anywho....
Got the motor in today!
Big thanks to Cornfed! I couldn't have done it without him!
The manifold couldn't have fit more perfectly...which isn't bad for it being made 3000 miles away!

Here a few more pics!

The rear one looks fine, the front one is still hard to tell. But as long as you understand what I mean and it looks fine to you. We're good to go. It certianly looks all pretty

Nice engine, I like your whole setup a lot. I was going to have bad2ndgen make me a manifold, but then i ended up picking a tubular hks one up off ebay, you can check the thread out. I still want him to make a manifold for my GTX someday... I cant wait to see some dyno numbers from your setup. Goodluck and hope you make a ton of power.

Justin, yeah BDC and I got the motor running over the weekend!! It was such a beautiful sound when my baby first came to life!!! Everything went pretty smoothly for being a brand new motor and considering the many new things that I was doing at once on this project. We took lots of pics and videos and they should be up shortly...
Can't wait to get this motor broken in and tuned up...It's gonna be a beast! :-)
BIG BIG thanks to BDC and Cornfed for their help...could not have done it without them!

Sure man, use any of the pics that you would like.
