Sorry, the disk pic I made too small. But notice the areas around the rivets chunked out. Every rivet hole had this. I wish I still had my flywheel pics as the surface area was worn so bad and it only had 1k miles. 5-700 of break in.

Since I went to the act 6 puck I slip it a few times on a new disk and its ready for the track. No more 500-700 break in miles.

I wouldnt hard driving. Its rated for much more than I ever put thru it. I broke it in for 700 miles of esy street driving (didnt have a choice as the car wasnt fully tuned). After break in I started street tuning it for maybe 50-100 miles. Then on to the dyno for more tuning. I was on a dynojet for about 1 hour and it never slipped. Week later went to a dyno dynamics for further tuning (loaded dyno) and to confirm numbers. Started slipping around 500+ area. There were no drag passes or even hard launches on it. What you see is from street driving and a few hours of dyno time.

Now with that said I believe Sean is telling the truth about there luck with these kits. I know he wouldnt lie about them. I truly believe I was one of the first to get a 3+ disk and they had issues I was told later that they worked out.

Myself, will "NEVER" support SPEC as they did not take care of me. I wouldnt have been so upset if it would have been under differant circumstances. But the fact that I called the shop and spoke to one of the owners and we had a very long discussion about what I was building and what I would be doing with the car only to be told later ----too bad, its out of warranty but we can rebuild it for you for $$. I took pics and measured the thickness for him and he agreed it was less than 1000's of wear but yet not only did it slip but ate the flywheel and P plate bad??? All with less than 1000's of wear! BULLSHIP!

Here is a video before I pull the unit out showing the slipping crap!

I want something close to oem feels because my plans are to upgrade my car to hit 350hp in a daily driver car and it will be going through a lot of trafic(stop n go) so i dont want a solid disc. What about spec 2? i mean i dont want a 500hp car. make it ez guys plz. Thanks.

Spec stage 2 or 2+. It will drive like stock but hold more power. There's your simple answer

Nobody is arguing that you didn't have an issue with your clutch. All we are saying is that your situation is not the norm, based on the many clutches that have left our shop. I could take pictures of all the junk ACT clutches we have laying in our storage room and make claims that ACT is junk...but that wouldn't be fair to ACT seeing as how that is not the norm for them also. I can tell you one thing though, we definitely have more junk ACT clutches laying around than we do Spec. Once again, does that mean ACT is garbage? No...it simply means the particular car the clutch was on had issues holding the power. Every company is going to have its fair share of customers with good experiences and bad experiences. In some situations its the manufacturers fault and sometimes it's user error, but in the end, it always seems to be the manufacturer that has the blame forced on them. I do agree though that Spec should have probably dealt with your situation a little better than you claim they did.

End of story, both clutches will get the job done just fine as long as they are matched to their appropriate power holding ability. My personal opinion, for those looking to retain some factory-ish drive-ability on mild to moderately modified vehicles, get a Spec stage 2-3 ("+" version if budget allows). If you are putting down big power, look towards a twin disc or a higher-end single disc that is able to hold that kind of power.

I agree with what you are saying but there is one BIG thing that ponders me. The feel! My 3+ was very harsh. Was very hard to drive. Now that may just have been a bad combo with a 8.5lb flywheel? Or was this also part of the original flaws? Once I went to the ACT clutch kit I also went back stock flywheel.
