1. make sure the bottom (or side) port of your wastagate has boost pressure against it

2. try putting a smaller wastegate spring in it..

3. triple check boost controller hose diagram

4. check settings (if electronic) on the boost controller so there configured to External Wastegate

good luck

Checked all stuff and have decicded that it is probably the wategate spring. Switched off the boost controller and I was still making .94 bar ..even when I turn the settings down is the same as what it was making on low setting....Is this right?....by the way on high boost it is consistently making 1.2 bar so I'm happy with that!!

Also I have been told that I have the same spring as what is on a HKS TO4R kit.....does anybody know what the rating on that spring is?

Cheers

Ed

your turbo might be too big for your wastegate and might have to go to a bigger wastegate, I was having the same problems with a 60mm and I finally just switched to 2 38mm wastegates and now have no problems with .8 bar spring.

I had the same problem.

This could be due to three factors assuming you've plumbed the signal lines to the WG properly.

1. High pressure WG spring
2. Inadequate WG runner size or location
3. WG too small.

Easy way to test 2 and 3 is to completely remove the WG spring from the gate and see how much boost you make.

What brand and size WG are you using?
