Cant boost past .65 bar

I am becoming more familar with my fd on a Daily basis over the last 2 years I have owned and maintained my car on a reasonable budget, but now I cant figure this wastegate / turbo issue out.

The problem:
Seeing that my boost was limited to .65 bar by a big yellow spring in my tial 38mm wastegate, what is keeping my boost at that level now that I installed a 1 bar spring (The Big Blue one and yes just by physically handling it I can tell it is twice as stiff). All I did was remove the wastegate cap, and through in the 1 bar spring, but my boost gauge still reads only up to .65 bar and the car does not feel any different then before...

Thanks for any input

check boost leaks. you don't have a boost controller? does the turbo lag seem the same as always? what size turbo and when do you reach full boost? how long have you had the car?

If you pull the signal line going to the wastgate will it boost higher? (be very careful that you dont overboost trying this method, gradually give it more throttle until you see if it does or does not boost higher.

There does not seem to be much lag at all. It is a Precision Turbo GT-37, little bit bigger than a Garret GT 35. Could anything have fallen out or needed to be reseated when I installed the spring. I have had the car for 2 years. No boost controller yet, but it is on my list... that shouldn't matter thought right....?
