Can I run E85 and no intercooler??
I am thinking of going e85 on my s4 t2 motor with no intercooler, is this possible or a big issue? Its a t70 on lt10 ecu. I am looking at the bosch 044 pump. It will be street driven from time to time.

only problem I see is that unlike meth injection, you won't be able to monitor the actual cooling effect that it has on the air charge, since it will be injecting in the LIM. It may be enough to cool, it may not, problem is you won't know until it's too late.
Why not just run an intercooler so you can get your air temps close to ambient, and then with the E85 you'll be even cooler? Seems like win-win to me...

Ethanol doesnt cool as well as methanol, but it can still be done on E85. Ive seen a handful of guys who drag and dont have an IC or meth injection. Remember that alcohol not only removes latent heat, but the resistance to pre-ignition is much higher than gasoline, so its much safer.
To me, its best saved for the track to keep weight down, but depending on how much boost/power you are running, it can still be safe on the street. Just make sure to find a good tuner.
