alot of people are starting to use BW turbos now, s475 seems to be the most popular, seems a good choice out of all the bw turbos as it can do anything from 400-700whp

Lots of people do, I'm sure they are lurking around the forums. I was going to get an s366 but found a good deal on an s472 and jumped on it. The s300 series I've heard is great and has good spool time and is a very stout turbo. Not sure what you wanna know about it but call the guys from world wide racing in miami. They are a dealer for BW and can tell you what you need to know.

BW and it's retailers have sooo many tags for their turbos. and many, while having (ever so) slightly different wheels use the same compressor maps

what i do know is that the turbo you are looking at is close to the "R85" which works well due to it's large hotside. my motors make 400+ SAE at 5500 w the turbo and slightly over 500 SAE @ 20 psi without much drama.

the R85 from KG Parts:

61.5 X 84.7 compressor or 6.667 sq inches
hot is 70.8 X 79.8 or 6.93 sq inches

the turbo you are considering:

60 X 83.5 6.384
67.5 X 76.2 6.31

gt5382r

61.4 X 82 6.386
62.2 X 68 5.171

gt3574

61.4 X 82
64.6 X 74.2 5.89

a possible consideration:

i believe the BW is not water cooled. this may or may not be an issue. i do know they have run well on rotaries as far as the bearings so it may be o k. when you don't have a section devoted to water you can run more oil in the CHRA.

perhaps others w more experience could add their thoughts on the lack of water cooling.

i believe the turbo has a V band outlet which is important although it lists as some funky dimension which will make the DP a bit more work. given it's T4 footprint it would fit my CPR manifold and any other T4 setup.
