I decided to recirculate my twin Tial 44's. However, I didn't want to lose the amount of power I'd expect to with my 3" downpipe. As luck would have it my exhaust housing cracked leading me to have to replace it with a newer housing that relocated the downpipe. Since I had to build a new downpipe anyway and wanted to recirc, I went with 4", problem solved.

Let me tell you something. I've done plenty of automotive related things that sucked. More than I care to remember. However, building twin recirculating wastegate tubes on an rx7, on your back, absolutely takes the cake. Rant over.

I feel your pain but it is so much quieter!

Full 4 inch from turbo back with recirculated twin gates through 2 burns stainless mufflers and Vibrant exit muffler. Quieter then old full 3 inch with dumped twin gates and 1 vibrant ultra quiet resonator in every situation by a mile.

Seems an odd choice to use pipe on the plumb back.

Saw this twin wastegate set-up installed in a skyline a month or two back, count your lucky stars you don't have to fab or install this in the car, the rotary is easy in comparison!

I wouldn't mind building that out of the car like that. One too many pie cuts for me. That thing is a work of art though, for sure.

Totally agree, I sort of gave up on my project! I am not a fabricator nor a welder, just play one, and damn that project is not fun.

It's a bit *****, more done for the sake of appearance. What is scary or impressive is the millimeter clearances from components and bodywork when installed, rotary isn't fun but a few stainless donuts can give several options compared to this.

Some of it, sure. But sometimes the only way to get the tight radius you need is with pie cuts unfortunately.

Twin 44's is tough. Twin 38's with a short runner manifold on the FD was a challenge also.

That hard angle on the rear WG looks like it's going to hurt... Could you have adjusted the entry point into the DP downward and back slightly, along with clocking the WG exit downward slightly to achieve a smoother angle?

It's all a game of compromises. The angle might look worse in that pic than it actually is. The gates and recirc tubes are right on top of the motor mount so no they couldn't be adjusted down.
