Building My Own Turbo Kit
I haven't built my own turbo kit before but it doesn't seem all that complicated so I think I am going to give it a try and peice it all together. The turbo I want is the SR Motorsports KKK a.k.a. Holset HX35. I have heard that it is a T4 flange? So I would be able to hook it up to a HKS Cast or Stainless Steel Manifold or XS Engineering Manifold? Or I would need to get an adapter/make my own adapater? Then I will need a wastegate, probably an HKS Racing wastegate? I know the GT Wastegate has a V-band flange so I would need a V-band HKS wastegate, is there a cast manifold that fits the raceing wastegate or would I have to get a stainless steel HKS Manifold? Also I saw this manifold on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2430031787 and it looks like the flange is for a HKS Racing wastegate, and its a T4 flange for the turbo, so that might work too? Then I need -6 SS Braided hose for the oil and water lines, any idea of aproximately how much length I would need and what kind of adapters and AN fittings would I have to get and where could I buy that stuff? I have a friend that can weld so I can have him make the pipe to the turbo to my intercooler and from the hotside to the downpipe. I also need to tap somewhere for the boost controller and boost gauge? Anything else I need to do that is important for the install?
