as in not leak? that depends on the stiffness of the spring...

I have the same BOV and I'm curious myself. Try calling Greddy, they actually do answer and you can talk to someone semi knowledgeable, I've done it before.

I think I'm going to go with the Synapse BOV, it seems like it is pretty good, not much sound though.

My research (and personal experience) indicates the Type-S should be good for at least 20psi.

Greddy no longer takes public calls it seems (I called them a couple years ago), probably because of the recent bankruptcy of their parent company. I tried IMing their tech support people and nobody was online, and screw e-mail for this kind of stuff as it is very cumbersome.

So I went through the authorized dealers list on the website and found that Stillen (Steve Millen Performance, best known for Z cars and other Nissan stuff) is an authorized dealer. I called them up and pressed the option for sales/technical questions, and spoke to a guy named Kenny. He told me he used to own an Rx-7 and that the purple-top Type-S BOV should be good for up to 25psi if in good condition and adjusted correctly. I asked him about the Type-S leaking (some complain about that, I've never had a problem) and he said people often damage it from constantly adjusting it.

In my own personal experience I ran 18psi on it just fine. Evo's run around there stock (completely different motor and completely different turbo of course), and people turn up the boost beyond that. So I think if everything is ok and you have a good vacuum source you can stick with the Type S. I drilled and tapped my ACV blockoff plate on my 2nd gen for a pressure source and it never had any surging problems after that.

as far as holding the PSI no problem IF as stated earlier adjusted correctly. but if it dosent flow enough its still no good. the whole point of a BOV is to relief the pressure on the turbo to prevent comp surge. the older style push BOV will leak if not sealing/adjusted right and the new version BOV's are tring to eliminate that with the pull type. so the intake pressure is keeping the BOV closed more so than spring pressure so they seal "better" than the others. so i guess if your looking for no leaks as your current BOV flows enough that synapsys should work pretty good for you from what iv been reading about them.
