Boost controllers!

Hi All,
Is there a general consensus on 'the best' boost controller for a single turbo RX-7?
Apexi AVC-R, HKS EVC4, Profec A? Any others?
Best,
John

They all work

I like this one. The new Blitz SBC-ID

As you can tell these guys are pretty crazy about it.

It has more features than any of the others, some you won't need. What are you looking for in a boost conroller?

Hey Glass man,
Your pictures didn't come through. You can email them to me at Jrbjag@yahoo.com though.

Right now I'm trying to size them all up. I'd like to have one that has a boost learn feature. I spoke with one of the HKS reps about the EVC's (I had an EVC4 that I sold... and now have an EVC1 I bought a couple months ago), and he stressed having a fast-reacting control module. According to him, the solenoid in the EVC1 reacts about 3x slower than the one in the EVC4.
RPM and throttle position-dependent boost maping would be great too... I know that the AVC-R has RPM based boost maping, but I don't think it takes into account TPS (I'd like to have something similar to the new boost maping in the Wolf3D 4.0).

I'll search the net for info on the new one from Blitz, though. Thanks!
Best,
John

I have a Profec A. It doesn't do anything special, but it controls my boost well. The main reason I bought it was because I got it for only $300, but it has worked very well for me.

OF the top boost controllers i just think it is personal preferrence. You could make a huge list of the fast cars out there who are making power and times with this boost controller or that.

The only thing that i think should be said is that the lower model boost controllers suck. lets put it this way...the guys at HKSUSA don't even like the EVC EZ.

In my opinion the Greddy Profec B and the HKS EVC EZ are the most reliable, give the most consistent results and are the easiest to install and use for the money!
You guys should check out the boost controller made by Innovative Turbo Systems.

I was using the EZ but due to the boost level that I'm about to start running I had no choice but to switch over to a manual but that was before I found the Innovative controller!
The EZ was only good for 35 to 36psi!
With my new set-up I'm going to be running between 40 to 45 psi!
