Arrow Blow-through with a 60-1

I am contemplating a blow through setup for reasons of simplicity and cost. However, my big power needs are still there so would a 60-1 work with a blow-through Weber setup? Which carb? DCOE? It will be a street car. I will be tuning with an LM1 so hopefully I can work out any bugs. Any suggestions?, fuel pump?, FPR?...............

i have done blow through weber systems with much bigger turbos (T76) .... they work great!!! and are very reliable , up to 18 psi....
so...... answering your question , yes you can blow through with a weber and a 60-1 easily!!

Keep in mind that not just any carb will work. Not even natrually aspirated carbs from rotaries will work unless mods are performed to them. I don't recall whom, but theres some company on the net that deals with a LOT of carbed turbo rotaries. Do a search, I'm sure thay can help you out.
ALSO, if you do a draw threw rather then a blow threw, your turbo will need a carbon seal as opposed to the more common dynamic seal if you want the turbo to last any amount off time.

I'm planning on running a blowthrough setup with a 48mm Dellorto and the 60-1 that I just bought from dvls-7. I need to send the carb out to have it modified. I've heard really good things about blowthrough setups on 7's. Are you going to run an intercooler?

Yes, I will be using a FMIC of a good size...

Anyone tell me if a DCOE or IDA would be better for a blow/through with a 60-1 and of what size??? 45,48,50mm??????

Since it is a street car I imagined a DCOE would be best. And I havn't got a chance to talk to Robert yet....

Also, check out rotaryshack.....Good prices on Webers and they turbo prep.

correct me if im wrong but i was under the influence you couldnt run a intercooler because the fuel could pool in the bottom it. risking a explosion?

As far as I know thats only true with a draw-thru setup, where fuel would actually be passing through the intercooler. With a blowthru setup the plumbing is basically the same as with an EFI setup.

POKINATCHA is correct. There really is no reason not to use an intercooler on a blowthrough or EFI. It decreases intake charge temps; thus, making more power, and improving engine life.....I have a friend that found a Starion FMIC in great shape for $100 on ebay and the piping and mounts will be fairly easy to fabricate.
