ok so its basicly what i want to choose in a sense.
I would like to be able to fluctuate between low boost and higher boost so when i go to the track or something i can still have some fun.
Of coarse i will take all other precausions there is to have a semi reliable setup.
Meth-cooling- proper tune- ect ect.
i dont want to go half *** on this project.
also on the other term if some punk kid on an evo or somethnig wants to be smart i would love to be able to show him what a rotary can do.
So in a sense i want a good proper 450-500 setup and enjoy the car.

Plus the car is a weekend driver and its getting cold now so its a perfect time to start the project.

Any more inputs on the 500 vs gt35r would be awsome....
Thanks guys!

The 500R has a 67mm minor and 84mm major on the compressor...... what sean is talking about is a 3574 unless i'm not mistaken

Well to make long technical mumbo jumbo short from what i understand..

GT35R faster spool falls off up top 6K+.
500R Slower spool But keeps pushing up top.

My personal opinion.
If you want a nice fast street car and drive it often like you would a daily driver then GT35R is your choice.
If you want to track the car and push it and race your *** off then 500r would suit you better.

well yes i do track the car and will track it more in the future, but also use the car not as a daily but a weekend car.

How much slower does the 500r spool compared to the 35r?
i know i may be getting annoying to some but i just want to go with the best choice.

Go with the PTE 6265 (billet wheel) with the new T4 .84 divided housing.

How much boost do you really plan to run?

up to and around 15 psi, choose a 35R.

up to and around 20 psi, consider the 500R.

With a bad motor I made 450whp at 19psi and 470whp at 22psi on a T3 3586R, mild street port full boost 3800rpms. I am sure once I get the motor rebuilt (60psi in rear housing) it will spool even better and make more power. I would not suggest a T3 turbo because you are basically out of options if you choose to upgrade or go a slightly different route.

definitely no on T3 flange turbos, like drinking through a stir straw in rotary applications.

I agree with not using t3 flange but my turbo doesn't fall off up top like most 35r do and makes great power and was increasing in power with every pound I raised it. If it wasn't for motor issues I would have brought it to the high 20's in boost to test out its efficiency. Its just not economical to spend what I did on a turbo to get the max flow from a t3 35r setup 75lbs/min.

500r when I change my setup!!

+1 on the 500r, but I am running the older version 35R based edition like Rich's.

I am seeing 15psi by 3700rpm. Right now that is what my boost controller is set at so I bet I could get it to see a couple more psi that quickly if I wanted. I am waiting to turn it up after I install my meth/H2O injection. I have no idea what my numbers are on this tune (just tuned on the street 3 weeks ago) but the car feels slightly quicker than what it did at just over 400WHP on stock ports and same boost. But we all know how accurate the butt dyno is.

Personally I am very happy with the 500R, but the newer edition is a bit different as Sean mentioned.

Talking about T3, Tial SS 1.03 housing is equivalent to T3 and supposed to respond as quick and make a bit more hp so I guess it's somewhere between a T3 and a T4, maybe we can call it a T3.5

you could send it out and get the T3 housing EXTRUDE honed, smoother inside, and slightly larger.
did it on some Nissan T28, and was impressed with the results

These are the guys to do it (http://www.extrudehone.com/auto/auto-performance.php) I can't help you on pricing unfortunately.

I just sent off my UIM/LIM to be honed and then Ceramic/Teflon coated.
