Ayone coated the INSIDE of the compressor housing? (abradable seals?)

I'm thinking about having the inside area of the compressor housing where it mates to the wheel coated with a thin teflon coating. It'll be just enough to create a little clearance interference so that the compressor will eat it away and form a tighter seal against the housing for more efficiency.

Anyone done this before? Worth it or a waste?

On Allison C-30 compressors we used a few different coatings. One was an aluminum/graphite coating. It could be lapped using the wheel’s face to get a perfect fit. We could then shim the clearance to a min spec (without the fear of a rub) for more efficiency.

We coat the inside of the compressor housings with teflon based coatings, it works.

so what kind of coating would work best you think? is teflon too slippery for the compressor to lap it away?
