Apex'i RX6 Install Pics
For anyone who cares, some shots of the Apex'i RX6 kit going in. Should be done by the weekend and has been pretty painless so far. Then again, tuning still lies ahead...

hp
i don't really know where i'll end up on hp, but the kit is supposed to make upwards of 400 at the wheels. gotta tune gradually, but i'd be happy if i hit 400 or so engine hp to start, which shouldn't be too tough. the motor's too new to blow .

install is finished, just need to get some new pics up. toying with tuning and wastegate issues now, so far boosting about 8 pounds. I'm not certain my BOV is working right so I'm being super careful so I don't put backpressure on the turbo. Does anyone have any experience with the Apexi twin-chamber valve? I'm not hearing it open, though my WG is super loud as it's venting to atm.

If your BOV vents you will hear it and not wastegate as much.. the wastegate sound will be there but very quiet compared to without. BOV is easy to trouble shoot just run a vacuum line from a nipple on the UIM straight to the BOV and it def should open unless you have your apexi bov tightened to far or loosened to far.. Just double check stuff like that.

mine is replummed into the exhaust so I cant say for sure.

Yeah, I have the tension on the spring backed out almost all the way now, so I'm going to try tightening it up. The WG is ultra loud, especially since it sits right underneath the passenger seat, but I would expect to hear the BOV at least a little. Right now I'm hearing a kind of squirrely sound (like several chirps going from fast to slow) which I'd hate to be the compressor wheel dropping from thousands to hundreds of rpms in a matter of a second . Not good.

my greddy racing wastegate is loud as ****, but when you shift/let off gas your bov should actuate and a slight wastegate noise come ringing through. Atleast thats how mine is..

Oh, and to answer and old question, I got it from Rotary Performance. They were a little more expensive than others (I figure I could have gotten it for about $300 less if I wanted to wait), but after ordering it elsewhere to find out later they upped their prices and couldn't get it in a timely manner, I just got it from RP—they had it in stock (plus, I got the fuel setup from there anyway, so I made it a package). Good people at RP.

hey devlman, im in the process of installing my rx6 kit but im a lil hesitant since the instructions suck to say the least. my main issue is how and where do i connect the vacum hoses?... do all the vacum hoses that i disconnect from the twins get capped? or do i have to reconnect some of them back onto the rx6? thanks for all the help
PS: do i need to use a boost controller or will the spring in the wastegate releash at a preset level of boost?
