Can someone tell me what is the advantages and disadvantages of using 2 peice apex seals versus 3 peice stock apex seals? Wouldnt the 2 peice apex seals be more reliable enstead of corner seals coming out or being reposition?

Well today I orderd the two peice 2mm apex seals from mazdatrix the one with the larger corner seal, because my freind had to take down his engine because of a failed corner seal and this is not the first time. They are so small and sharp at the corner they can get caught on anything on the housing if the limits was over acheive.

If it got caught on anything, then the surface is not even or the intake is dirty.

It appears that the 3 piece will seal a bit better than the 2 piece at lower rpm.

There are quite a few guys here running good power on stock Mazda OEM seals (3 piece 2mm seals).
