Apex RX6 wastegate hookup w/ Profec

Hey guys...just got finished with a 3-day install of the RX6 kit I had sitting in my garage that I bought from Fritz a while back. Everything went pretty smoothly, and it is SO cool being able to get rid of that damn rat's nest and all the extra stuff. The engine bay looks so spacy now!

Anyways back on topic. So I went out and tried a few runs, and I noticed that the turbo wants to go all the way up to the 1 bar level where I assume the spring is set at. I actually want to be able to run less boost with my Profec-B, which I hooked up, but I"m not sure if it's working.

I set the hose routing like this: Hose coming off the pipe connecting the turbo to the IC -> through a t-fitting (the other hose is the yellow hose in XSTransAm's diagram used for pressurizing the factory fuel injector o-rings, I believe) injector -> "In" nipple on the Profec B controller -> "Out" nipple on the Profec B controller -> side nipple on the Apex wastegate. Does this sound right? I kept the same settings on the Profec B as I did on my stock turbos which ran at about 12psi, which is why it was a bit unexpected when the boost went up to 1 bar.

Also while I'm here, anybody know of a good source to find silicone hose to connect the filter pipe to the inlet on the turbo? I think it's a 3.5 inch inlet on the turbo and around a 3.25 inch filter connecting hose, so a transition or reducer hose would be ideal...

Thanks!

Cool...I sent an e-mail to Jason to see if he has that coupling. As for the boost control issue, I just did a quick search and realized that Scuderia's website had all the information I needed:

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/profec_install.html

Duh. Basically I need to route the controller to the top nipple on the wastegate, and the side nipple on the wastegate to the UIM. Then of course I need to adjust the switches on the back for an external wastegate...I think it should be:

4 3 2 1
d u u d

where d is down and "on".

Problems. I tried hooking up the Profec as described in on the Scuderia site, and I've tried both pin settings (for overboost), but I'm still getting NO control of the boost. If anything, it actually spiked above 1 bar.

I did a little more research, and I found the instruction book that came with the Profec (duh?), and it looks like the switch settings are the exact opposite of what I had thought as shown on the Scuderia site! On the diagrams, the WHITE color is the switch, NOT the black (somebody should redo that...it totally looks like the black color is the switch position) So the regular external settings should be:

U D D U

And for overboost:

D U D U

I'm gonna try the new settings tomorrow and will see if I get better results.
