pro its cool as hell if you got a single. because its so much simpler. dont have to worry about a funky power band kicking in on a turn and sending you out of control. and like dougie said...on my setup i dont have a rats nest AT ALL. thats reason enough for most people to want to go single. as far as lag is concerned my apexi turbo comes on full boost by 3000rpms. i think the only real con is that it cost $$$$ to be single. and lots of it. i did all the work myself with the help of a couple of good friends and it still cost me at least $8000 and i am still dont have everything i need yet.

Single or parallel turbo is the way to go. YOu won't regret it......just don't get too be a turbo and street port the motor to reduce lag to near zero.

I went single because of my boost problems with the twins.
Knock on wood, haven't had any boost problem with my single yet.

Aside from what has been already mentioned, makes the car MUCH easier to work on becuase of more room in the engine bay. I've never had good experiences with stock rebuilt turbos. A new properly sized single is the way to go.

Lag is a questionable CON for single turbo.
It really depends on your choice of turbo and homework for it.

My GT35/40 can hit 15psi around 3krpm.

PROS:
-Easier access to other components in engine bay
-Cooler compressor charge at lower boost levels; yet flowing more than stock turbos at the same boost level.
-Above will also have less stress on your turbo.
-Reduces the complexity of sequential twins.
-All the things you learn by going through the experience.

CONS:
-Takes some time to tune
-Requires $ and understanding

When converting to a single, do you need to have the engine pulled and rebuilt & dowelled? Or can you put a single turbo on and just upgrade the fuel and ecu.

you dont need to get the engine pulled and dowled unlesss you are making some massive hp numbers. just dont skimp on the fuel stuff.

Fuel

I have the trickest fuel setup. I will post pics soon, took me more than 4 days and about $1,000 just on lines connectors & regulator.
