Air filter for T78 ...limited space

Ok, I have my “Kevlar “underwear on since I think I may get some grief for not using the search engine on this one . Just call me lazy but my question is what air filter are you using with your single set up? I have a T78 on my 3rd gen and the Greddy sponge filter, perhaps effective is butt ugly. I was thinking a Blitz or a K&N filter but the space is so limited. I relocated my RAD and have a front mount so the space from the turbo housing to the coolant hose is about 8 inches. Any ideas what will fit ?

This is what I use, which is an HKS product. I think it comes in different colors. Mines a tad bit nasty here in this pic, but got a nice clean one in now

Ouch... I bet it does not like all of that hot air coming right off the radiator.

Agreed, you could easily push 400F coming out of the turbo with that setup at modest boost levels.

LUPE- Please post a picture of your engine bay, as that would be helpful in the context of this thread. This could save someone a trip to autozone who doesn't know what a "ricer special" looks like. I, for one, have no idea what it looks like. Plus, I'm just plain ol curious whatcha got under there

Autozone sells shitty cone air filters in their "sport compact" section. Just find one that fits your inlet. There are also nice universal K&N filters on ebay. I just bought one that was 4" inlet for $45 shipped. I am not sure what locations are available for a CAI on FD's, but if you can get your air filter out of the engine bay, that would be very beneficial.

I don't have any current pictures of it right now........ It seems to work fine.

My car puts out decent power with it

If you pm me measurements of the space you have, i can give you a k&n part #,

i need inlet diameter, max width you can go right after inlet, how long you want the filter, and with max width avaialble at the max distance

Looks like the HKS Super Mega Flow might fit... And you could get a red filter... I think it would look great in there. You could also get more room by using a flexible coolant hose all the way from the top of the radiator to the bottom of the pump housing. You could then bring the coolant hose down and over at a steeper angle/turn. Is there a reason you can't do that?

Where are you guys getting the coupler for the filters. My HKS SMF unit did not come with one. It seems the ones i have found are 5-10 but shipping runs 20-25.
