Aftermarket LIM

I am in the process of rebuilding and I have heard from several sources that the aftermarket LIM (Xcessive) helps keep AFRs syncronized in both rotors and thus leads to a lower probabilty of detonation.

I have a GT3540R T04 flange connected to a Greddy SS exhaust manifold. Does anyone have a similar setup with this LIM? If so, did you need to machine off any material from the LIM or the turbo to get enough clearance?

I only intend to run 2 primaries and 2 secondaries (injectors) on the unit. Is there any b.s. to get this thing to work (cutting, etc.) or is it plug and play so to speak?

What are your 1st hand impressions of fitament and build quality for the unit?

Did you notice any appriciable difference in EGTs or AFRs after you retuned the motor with the LIM?

Did you notice any extra power that you can directly attribute to the LIM?

Thanks!

I really thing that GroundZero and Xcessive should get their own vendor's thread going to gather all the info related to their LIM and oil pan offerings. Would help them sell more of their products, too.

The GZ LIM is basically plug n play, but with the greddy t88 my friend had to grind down abit for it to fit properly. I'll contact him to post what exactly was done to make everything work and he has the GZ oilpan which I believe was just plug n play..

It is supposed to work on the 3rd gen RX-7

Here is a link to the A-SPEC site. The LIM is in the middle of the page.

Here's the pic of the GZ LIM with the Greddy T88 kit, the GZ LIM had to be ground down ever so slightly by the front runner so that it wouldn't touch the downpipe, if the turbo you're going to use is a smaller size than a T88 then it probably wouldn't need any grinding whatsoever since it probably won't come as close to the GZ LIM as my turbo did. Another modification you will have to do is since the GZ LIM moves the LIM foward toward the front of the car slightly you'll have to modify the engine oil spout so that it doesn't touch the throttle body, this was fixed on my car by heating up the plastic engine oil spout and bending it to fit, I've seen other people fabricate their own spout to fit as well. The GZ LIM also comes with the holes prepped for 2 additional injectors in the center runners, you don't have to use these, they are just there in case you want to add more injectors, this can be done later on, they come capped and you'll need to remove the caps if you want to use them, other than that, that's about all that is needed to install a GZ LIM.

i would think so. i mean the website says it flows over 13% more air than the stock unequal manifold. 13% is 13% and i would say at 421hp @ 17.5 psi a 13% increase in air flow would be pretty damn good!

Here's some side by side pics of the stock Mazda LIM vs. the Xcessive Motorsports(formally Ground Zero) LIM(thanks for the pics JD):

Some pics of where the secondary injectors are to be placed(As you can see it comes with the middle 2 injector holes capped shut until removal is necessary):

Here's a pic of the secondary rail needed to be used if 4 secondary injectors are to be used with the Xcessive LIM, if anyone needs any of these you may contact Ralph at Xcessive Motorsports:

This is a pic of the rail installed on the Xcessive LIM:

Are ALL injector holes on the GZ/Xcessive LIM properly machined so they can take the stock "air bleed sockets", the little things that go into the injector holes on the LIM before you squeeze the injectors in, better known as fuel diffusing or mixing plates?
