Hey Loi.. if we meet up I'll show you how I modified my spare fuel rail to accept 850cc injectors. You can do it with an extra o-ring as well but I think shaving the top of the fuel rail is more reliable. I haven't had time to drop them in yet, but I plan on going TO4E or TO4S next year and I will move my 850's to the primary spot, and use 1300's as secondaries. 850's will work fine as primaries as long as you tune it correctly, there has been a couple discussions on this in the PFC forum so you could search there and read some more.

I have 850cc primaries and 1300cc secondaries. The 850cc's aren't stock though, I got them from XS Engineering. The secondaries are the stock 850cc's bored to 1300cc. Once I get my car back from XS I'll let you know how they work, but I think they should be good considering that's what they use. I'd get 1600cc secondaries if I were you though, I'll be switching some day, I can't afford a new rail at the moment, but I'm working on it.

vosko,

Don't even think about 1680cc primaries, you will have horrible drivability.

Go here for info on 850cc secondaries in the primary rail:

1680 cc primary will give you part throttle driveability difficulties. If you drive wide open throttle all the time...........................

I have 850's all the way around accomplished though modifying the fuel rail and there's no issues with idle or drivability whatsoever, like some had reported in other posts. I imagine it's all in the tuning.....

Sorry I can't provide more details on what was done to the fuel rail, but when it came to gas I decided to leave it to the professionals!

I had Bryan at www.rotorsportsracing.com do it as part of my engine/turbo swap, so I unfortunately don't have any specific pricing for that.

you can use 1200, 1300cc both of them are 850cc bored out without an after market fuel rail. 1600cc is the true 1600, those are ford/bosh injectors. however the 1600cc is low impenance and do required an after market fuel rail.

bah....
i had it all figured out how to do it, just never got around to it

i plan on doing it soon (converting to 850cc primary), but dont remember what exactly i was going to do to the rail...

looking at a 550cc, 850ccc, and the primary rail side by side helps a lot

I have a couple of sets of 1300cc injectors in stock. I can send these out but would need your 850's as a core.

I found a site that sells a drop-in Blitz Denso 850cc injector for the FD primary rail, curious if anyone is using them.

Here's the link:

I had my 550cc's bored out to 950cc's by RCengineering, they worked great and dropped right in the primary rail due to using the same injector body.

I've heard if injectors are enlarged a fair amount over original size, they drip a little bit. Which would be a problem for primaries cause it would cause bad idle.
Seems thats on of the main reasons people opt for using stock secondaries in the place of the primaries as opposed to simply getting primaries bored out.
Any truth to that?
