85 GSL-SE N/A thinking turbo

I was wondering since it is a 13b in the 85 how much work would it take to get the turbo exaust manifold from a newer car and put it on would I have computer reprogramming to do or would everything stock be alright? just un bolt the old and bolt on the turbo setup, run some plumbing for the oil and it's good to go? I highly doubt it but thats why im asking

welcome to the board.

what you'll have to decide off the bat is if you want to do this quickly or if you want to do this right. spend some time going through the Gen I section and weigh your options thoroughly. the bottomline is it will work, but like you alluded to, it's not as simple as it sounds. there will be some fab work to be done and then, tuning.

on a side note, since you're new to Rx-7s, you probably should wait and get used to the Gen I's quips and quirks before you try to turbocharge it.

I agree i do have a turbo sitting on my bench but it's from a john deere tractor, now a turbo is a turbo and this is a decent size one and i know it's durability would be quite good due to the fact that it's from a tractor but I think i'll stick working out the quips and quirks like you said. I think improving the intake and the exaust would go a long way
