Question .60 compressor too small?

Is a .60 a/r compressor with a 1.05 a/r turbine too small for a stock ported motor? Sorry for such a simple question.

A 60 cover is fine, the 1.05 is a little big, I would suggest a .81, or a .96 at most. What turbo has a 1.05? For that matter what turbo is it? Carl

.60 for the compressor is just fine and I recomend that you use a .84 for the rear that would be a good set up. Responds pretty quick and not to laggy and it'll still give you good whip lash.

Thats what i was thinking. Here is another nooby question. is a 1.0 A/R on a T4 flanged turbo is bigger then a 1.0 A/R on a t3 flanged turbo. Or does it make no difference. I mean is a ratio so basicly its the same but what im getting at is a T4 turbo have a larger A and a larger R then a T3 turbo.

i feel so smart

This brings me to another question that deals with the first post. I assume when people are talking about not going bigger then .96 on the turbine side they are talking about a t4 turbo.

Tookwik I don’t think this would hurt flow at all considering a stock fc turbo is about the size of a t3 turbo with a .86 so if you used a t4 turbo with a .96 its much bigger. Can anyone comment on this, as I have no idea what I’m talking about?

The stock TII turbo is too small and is restrictive.

I mean if you only want 300rwhp then the stock turbine side is fine...but I'd imagine you want more than that.

You might yell at me for this but I have the obx SS exhaust manifold that has the t4 flange but **** came up and I didn’t have any money for the turbo I wanted so now I’m making an adaptor plate so I can use my stock s4 turbo on the obx manifold. As you know the stock turbo has what I think you call..……hell I forgot it has the twin inlet so your exhaust pulses can enter separately and spool the turbo up quicker. Well now that I have this obx manifold with a huge t4 flange without the divided flange I might as well cut away the center part on the turbo as it is only slowing down the exhaust flow now...right???

I wouldent cut up my turbine housing, esp since it would be really hard to get all in their.

im using a 1.0 with a t4 flange, looks freakin huge but I was told by reputable people that it would work well

1.0 is not that huge... 1.32 or 1.34 is huge... Hell there was a turbo for sale in the for sale section a while back with a little under 2.0 compressor and same for the exhaust side.. Now that's a huge turbo..

As for the .60 compressor there are a differing opinions but from what I've read from most of the people who have experiance with rotarys and turbo's usually suggest .70 compressor. But I'm sure .60 would work.

Just looked at that turbo and it has a name plate on it so it was probably manufactured by some company as part of a turbo kit.

From what I have been able to gather, the exhaust A/R is much more important than the compressor A/R.

I think a .70 will ultimately outflow a .60 but I don't think the difference is huge.

I would have to agree on both parts. And the 2nd sentence is how I should have worded what I was trying to say.
