60-1 setup questions

just want to start of with saying that with this setup i would have all supporting mods.

PFC+ Commander
DP, MP, Cat back
RacePort or Streetport depending on if the 60-1 could flow a RacePort
Fuel pump (not sure on which yet)
850cc primaries 1600cc secondaries
Fluidyne radiator
Apexi intercooler core (custom V-mount setup)
Plus the obvious of removing air pump and what not.

Ok i have a brand new Garret T04 60-1 with 70 a.r. upgraded compressor housing sitting on my floor right now. i was wondering if anyone out there has or had this turbo and could tell me exactly where it maxes out on power and boost. i kno it will b a quick spooling turbo but i would like somewhere around 400hp. just wanted to kno if this would b possible or should i seek other routes to reach my goal.

Josh,

This map may be useful. Multiply airflow by 10 for gas to get an aproximation on HP.

What wheel and A/R is on the exhaust? That turbo with a 1.00 and P trim wheel should get you around 375-425 rwhp at 14-17 PSI depending on how well it all turns out.

In that case, I don't think you can use that turbo unfortunately. It's going to choke on the top end with that small a/r.

That a/r is too small. I had a .84 on my old car and it felt dying up on high rpms.

You can buy a new turbine housing. New they're around $325. There are guys swapping them around all the time so just keep an eye out for a used one. Might even find a piston guy that wants to trade down or just wants your housing.

If you're wanting top end power and you have a divided manifold try to find a 1.00. If the manifold is undivided then a .96 will work well. Just make sure what trim the wheel is so that you buy the appropriate housing. Most are P-trim but measure it to be sure.

We just built an FC with a 62-1. Made 411 on a Mustang dyno at 16psi on pump fuel. That's where we ran out of fuel. Peak power was at 7500rpm. The 62-1 held boost strong to peak power. If you're looking for 350-400whp find yourself a larger turbine housing and put it together. We're located just down the road in Louisville if you need any help.
