I think it was Jeg's that had the special of the Crane Hi6 and LX92 coil together in a package deal.

I read about it from another forum member and it was still going on, so perhaps it is a regular thing?

I saw that, only thing that made me hesitant is I can’t figure out which HI-6 it comes with. On the Summit site it has the HI-6S, they are different part #’s though

But @ 219 for the HI-6 unit, and 60 for the coil the 302$ price tag doesn’t make sense to buy it as a kit together. Unless I’m missing something

Thanks for the heads up though, Just want to make sure I get the right stuff

It was $190 for the HI-6 and LX92 for a while at Jegs.

Read KEITH and RICE RACING posts on the dual HI-6 and LX92 for leading coils if you need some inspiration to cough up the $$.

I was pleased as well.

Isn't the TII coil/MSD6A a way cheaper option, and one that is performing very well for many??? Just wondering aloud.

Sure, stock ignition works just fine for most people as well.

If you want a large, hot spark that is hard to quench you want more coil to take advantage of what the CDI can offer.

So, using my car as an example, what sort of performance improvements would you expect to see using the Crane set-up(that seems to be the one most are recomending)? Thanks, Carl

You could run it stupid rich or water injected- that might help spool better or cool better.

If there was any problems with your high boost quenching the spark at full boost high rpm you would gain power there, but you wouldn't know untill you tried the ignition. Intake temps, oil temps, porting, manifold design and injector size/ control will all affect how well the fuel stays atomized/stratified correctly.

When I added the ignition to my TII at 17-20psi I had to richen the mixture in the higher rpms to maintaing the same AF ratio and that indicated to me I had high rpm misfire before. Initially it didn't help my bridgey like idle, but then I found my 2ndary plates were cracked at idle and the idle smoothed way out- don't have a before and after.

I was running very rich, with poor intake manifold for atomization, 720cc and 1600cc inj and not a lot of intake/ oil heat so it might not help you as much in high rpms?

Read KEITH and Rice Racing posts on Crane Hi-6 and LX92 on leadings to see how it would help on a really high HP application.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I am adding a 2D Aquamist in the near term.

I run MSD 6a with a twin post MSD motorcycle coil for the leading.
I use an MSD Dis 2 with 2 MSD Blaster coils for the trailing.

The twin post coil is a great coil and very hot.

You could run two MSD 6a on the leading and two Blaster coils instead. I used the MSD universal set and you could make two sets out of it.

Ok got them installed, fired right up but

Weird thing is the tach will move while I’m crankin, then when it fires up NADA, just sits there dead. It worked b4 the HI-6 install, and the tach still gets its signal off the Wire from the haltech (prior to igniter or HI-6’s)

I did install a new fuel pump setup, could that have anything remotely to do with it? ( I have found more amazing things in Mazda wiring schematics b4) so it wouldn’t even surprise me
