10 sec w/ r85 @ 22 psi

10 sec w/ r85 @22 psi

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I went to the track and went 10.90 @ 129mph. I have a few bugs to work out, but i feel i made out ok. im spinning thru 2nd gear entirely and a tad in 3rd. I had 10.5 inch et streets on the car with 12 pounds of air pressure and did a decent burnout. The only thing i can think of that will make me spin like that is my coilovers because the spring rate is soo high n stiff. My 60 foot was a 1.6 disgrace. Other then my mistake off the line, that car took off! For the street, this turbo is nasty! Spools fast as **** and pulls hard. Night and day from my last turbo. If anyone is looking to purchase a single turbo kit, i defintley recommend the r85 kit Next time im gonna go on a lighter spring and maybe crank up the bo0st a bit, my wideband was reading 10.6's. a bit rich

Nice going!
I have the opposite problem

my springs are too soft
my rear bottoms out and then slams forward then the front
bottoms out and springs up hard

Like a damm seesaw horse
almost hit the wall everytime I go to the track
thats why I have giving up till I build my suspension

I have cut 1.48-1.49 60's tho

see stiff springs ant bad
just soften the shocks a bit
so it a squat a 'tad' more

You do not want to spend energy
having the car squat....You want to spend energy having the car go foward!

Congrats Tom, Glad to see JPR Imports is representing in the 10's

Ever think of going with full slick’s? Might help with those 60’s and with the spinning in 2nd

Did you use the N20 on that run? Or all turbo?

Does this mean you car will stop occupying Jims time now and I can get in the shop LOL

sevenin7, you should have no problem getting into the 10 sec range w/ the tec and that turbo. my car is still only at 22 psi and my suspension is too stiff in the rear. i cant really hook. The 60 foot is everything and mine sucked on that pass. Long story short, ull be fine, you picked a good combination to work with, you should have no problem running 10's as long as its tuned properly.

Congrats on the numbers! I'm sure you'll have no problems dropping the time down some more once your traction issues are resolved. Always nice to see another 7 break in to the 10 sec range.

Yeah, mine would have easily been 105mph if I knew how to drive. Mine doesn't launch for **** either. My car sits to low and bottoms out when I launch.

Yes, i know Dee is one the best rotary tuners ...but unfortunally is to far away from me . I will try ( with his maps ) like base to do the best i can !
About the rear traction im planning to use :
kaaz diff , 4.30 r/p , chromoly axxles, Mazdaspeed powerframe with diff brace , adjustable koni yellow with stock springs , stock wheels with e/t streets ....and i hope for good launches ...will see !
