I remember seeing you build yours in person, did you ever get it perfect Cam?

Oh more pixs!

I am definately anxious to see the results!
Dude - did you get another motor? what happened to the last motor? Still running the GT3540?

Yep...another engine. We will see what happens with this one. I have only driven the car about 2700 miles since I brought it home in October of 2005. And it was supposed to be an 'all problems solved' type car. Or atleast MOST problems solved. I would have been in much better shape buying the local LS1 RX7 I looked at before I bought this car.

Wow.. how many sensor bungs are in that system? 7 EGTs and an O2? Pressure and temp for each runner and the downpipe?

If times allows, my plan is to datalog pre turbine backpressure in each runner, along with egt, and post turbine pressure along with a few egts downstream to make sure I'm not reading flame temperature. I'm only using one O2 in the DP. Would mind running a o2 per rotor, but that would be some complex diversion pipes because of the high heat. I plan on the same for intake tract, pressures and temperatures before and after the intercooler, same with manifold etc..

Diff broke, then we got that replaced and the HSF-5 system started to act up. Spool is quite nice, according to his defi gauge its about 2psi by 1900rpms in 4th gear..

Well it has about 400 miles on it now.

I made a heat shield for the intake, sort of using a template that Damian created but then doing a ton of modification to it so it will work with my setup. I would say it dropped my IAT at least 5 degrees C and when rolling almost 10 degrees C. I got 16.4 mpg on the last tank of gas...no real boosting and it is running crazy rich even in vacuum, so I think this engine should get "good for a rotary" gas mileage once it is tuned.

I haven't had time to sort out the issues with the water alcohol. The vacuum maps of the ecu are of a MUCH higher priority to me at this point. I think the HFS-5 system needs to be hooked up to the secondary injector wires and not the primary, if I am reading Richard at Aquamist accurately. I will have to fix this in the near term, and clean up a bit of the wiring for the system.

We will see where it stands after the weekend. I have to do some work to my other car and then sort out the RX7 tuning wise.

I would absolutely make another one but I dont know how it would fit with a front mount. Mine is pretty specific to my setup. I am building some ducting that should make the heat shield even more effective. We will see how it goes.

I finished my stereo setup and I am REALLY pleased with that (even though that is WAY off topic in this thread). I will post a series of pics on my car when every little project is buttoned up. Should be before the 28th of August cause that is when I go under for a fairly major ankle surger (hospital for 3 days) and I want all car stuff out of the way before that time.

Wish me luck...
