Hopefully this weekend I can wrap up your runners, get things out to be coated, and get your engine on the dyno and maybe let you actually drive this car. I know talk is cheap, but for what its worth; we are doing our best to make sure everthing is done right this time, for the last time....

Rich, didn't go for the GZM lim, but I did slap a RZ Lim on
I will leave it in your hands...The RZ LIM is pretty nice! A great halfway point between the OE setup and the GZ LIM.
I got the steering rack back from Maval. They do an excellent job!! I also got new outter tie rod ends so it should be nice when it goes in. The Aquamist HFS-5 should be here on Friday...and I really hope it does get here by then because I want to bring it all up to you on Saturday.
Oh...and I got in on those floormats in the classified section and they are SWEET! Very much worth the $125! Lots of stuff to bring up there....again...

So is everything now gone to the coater? What sort of time frame we lookin at for final assembly?
I wish I would have taken before pictures of all the phases...suspension, motor mounts, diff mounts, PPF, wheels/tires, exhaust, interior, engine, the turbo system...etc..etc. It has been quite a transformation. I know we could do the after pictures as things come together in the next couple of weeks. But I really wish I had before pictures. Damn!

Just finished welding the DP. Tommorrow everything leaves except the LIM. I'm going to slap it in the mill and shave off the emissions crap, since I have to do someone else's for a 4" DP. Probably 2 weeks until the engine dyno. Oh your manual rack and the rest of the front end is together...

I wish Peoria, AZ was closer because you'd have another FD in the backlog...nice work

Milling the LIM? Why? Can you eliminate the emissions crap without having to weld in something to replace it? Or can you mill off the EGR box and not have to modify the intake runners to maintain flow?

I just want some more room for the LIM heatshield. You need airspace for heatshields to work. I don't plan on modifying the intake runners, just chopping off the buldging emissions crap. Hopefully the LIM isn't made from the worst AL alloys like the rest of asian metals....
I haven't been up there in awhile so I don't have pictures. I have the water injection kit at my house and that thing is pretty complex. I was going to take it up to Elliot this weekend but he is going to be in Vegas for a drag racing event. So it looks like next weekend I will have to take it up there.
The parts from the turbo system come back from the coater, probably the week of April 9th...so maybe I will have a fully completed engine by the end of that week. I have no idea. I would really like to take a bunch of pictures of everything I have changed while the car is up there and I have access to a lift...but I am more than a month from completion so no need to get hopes high yet...
Oh...and I have an FD!

so a bigger downpipe will make it harder to control boost?
The reason i ask is because i went with a 4in DP on my setup b/c i was thinking less back pressure on the turbine was ideal.

Setzep would know
I think he may have some issues at lower boost levels for the reasons he just mentioned, but we'll just have to wait and see. Sometimes your stuck working with what you have as far as space and design are concerned.
I'm not sure if I'm following you Brian but if your referring to the 3"-4" transition off the back of the turbine that has been shown to reduce the pressure on the back of the turbine and promote quicker response. I guess depending on the circumstances that in itself could lead to boost control issues.
