i got a first gen 79' that me and an experienced Rx-7 mec. are going to rebuild and i was wonering if anyone knew of a turbo kit for a 12A or if we'd have to modify to make it work.

 

mazdaracing.com makes a kit for them with stock carb and all around 2500$ or get a j-spec 12a turbo motor best bet for $ would be a 13bt swap

 

There are two 1st gen 12A turbo rx-7's running around here in Miami! Both of them are street cars and one has run a best time of 10.40 at 130 mph. The other one ran 11.0 at 130 mph and it dynoed 480RWHP at 28psi!
They are using the Weber type throttle body with a racing beat intake manifold and T-series turbo. ECU management by Haltech.

never ever ever buy anything from mazdaracing.com. They ******* theifs. A friend of mine ran a 11.20 with a 12a turbo in a rx7. I think he had a weber 48mm side draft and the turbonetics turbo box. He was using a 60-1 standard turbo and a custom made manifold. PM me if you want his number

Its an adapter that bolts to carb and makes installing a turbo easier. Im trying to find a pic for you
