Guys,
I know this is the turbo section, but I figure fuel pumps go together with turbos. Anyways, I supposedly have an Apexi R33 fuel pump, but It doesn't look like the pictures that I've seen. Mine is black and looks like the 300ZX fuel pumps. Did I get ripped off? What is the difference between the R32 and R33 fuel pumps? Does anyone have an accurate picture of the Apexi R33 fuel pump?

Awe common, I know Im not the only one who has the R33 fuel pump!

 

Both Apexi fuel pumps I have had were unpainted metal, silver in color. R33 and R34 I believe.

 

Do you think I got ripped off?

 

Difficult to be sure, it's always a gamble when dealing with an unconfirmed source. Buyer beware is a hard but fast rule.

 

I bought my pump from a "known" source and I've called a few "Rx7" places and they said that the old APEXI GTR pump was polished on the outside. The new pump is black on the outside.

 

The BNR32 is cad plated metal (gold color) and the BNR33 is black. I think they both have a bypass pressure regulator integrated with the pump (you can see the BNR32 bypass in the picture below). That may be useful in determining if you got the pump you expected. The bypass pressure is 75 psi on the BNR32, which means it is only useful up to 75 psi line pressure. It flows a lot up to that pressure, though.

Thanks for the reply man. I have that bypass at the top, also. The problem that I have is that I've seen the 300ZX fuel pump and it looks exactly like the pump that I've gotten from APEXI. The bottom of the fuel pump has about a 6" hose clamped on with a filter at the end. So, do I have a 300ZX fuel pump or R33? I've attached a picture of the one that I have, its the one on the left side in the pic.

I dont know anyone that sells the 300z pump unless its the same as the R33. Most places list them as the R33. Did you get this from a rotary shop?

From me asking all the Nissan guys, they all tell me that the 300ZX TT pump is the SAME as the R33 pump, that's what they tell me.

 

I wonder how much Nissan sells the pump for?
