Well, that is true.

But the reality is that many have experienced this scenerio:

U spent all ur $$$$ on the right reliable upgrades and proper tuning.

But in the real world there is always that slight chance of a "hiccup" and this is where the device comes in handy.

Also, this comes in handy when u tune it and want to push the envelop on HP.

So I hope that I can draw a line for all of us interested in the results from Jason.

Nothing goes below this line that isn't tested information proving for or against this product (must include a detailed description of what all the variables were and what the results were). If you want to bitch, start a new thread labeled "Why I think the Detonation Plug is BS"

U pretty much hit all the points right on.

batman has just quoted every recent post except the one clearly stating that he knew nothing of the device from someone WITH first hand knowledge.
just so we are all straight on that...

It's pretty simple how it works... not all of the fuel gets ignited upon the time of spark, causing a slower, cooler burn, meaning the rotors stay cooler, meaning that you won't be as likely to detonate.

You just lose out on efficiency with the slower burn.

Why does everyone refer to this as a "device" its nothing more than a plug so you can drop your trailing plugs. It doesnt actually "DO" anything at all.

I think we should all just refer to it as a "plug". Thats exactly what it is.

This is EXACTLY like when I removed my omp and screwed bolts in the omp injector holes. I would never rever to this bolts as a "device" because they dont do anything. Thats the exact same purpose these serve.

I'll be honest, I'm a skeptic. I might also be testing a set, as a skeptic I'm probably a good person for the job. I'll be having Steve Kan tune my car then when its tuned I'm going to throw a set of these in and make another run back to back and see the difference in hp/tq, a/f, and egt's. Then if they allow for or need spacific tuning and it looks like a good idea we might continue tuning and see how it goes. Course even if the tuning and hp/tq proves to be similar.....that doesnt mean its never going to be subject to detonation. Thats really the thing I dont like about these is the fact that they are called anti-detonation device. I feel like the name is quite missleading but hey, like I said I'm a skeptic. If it convinces me it'll convince anyone.

I would consider it stolen. From the best of my knowledge Steven was helping KDR go from the insert that goes in front of the plug, to the one-piece unit that is posted on his site.

Once I knew what the product was I started a long search of other companies that could offer this product and yield the same results. Danco, Inc has been in the aerospace industry for many years and has been working with alternate fuel engine designs. One design incorporated rotary technology in which the TrailPlug was invented.

If you have questions, comments, or concerns regarding this product, please direct them to Performance Group Unlimited as I'm sure Skip Gorman nor KD Rotary will reply.

Thanks much,

Shawn, This early statement that I pulled out of the mass of bs on this thread should answer your question. It states in English: I found out what the mod was and had the resources to duplicte it and the legal bla bla bla to find a way around selling it.

By the way your GT40 turbo kit is screaming. Had to throw that in there.....

Great, so everyone go buy it, support the guy who screws the other guy, I'm sorry for the rant but what a ******* thing to do. "Hey now that I know what your idea is I'm gonna go and steal it take all your profits. "And you know I don't bash other vendors on here unless I feel it I am being personally attacked, but I also think this warrants it. No support from me, complete garbage situation. I haven't blown motors, I have no need for it and neither do my customers, I don't know Skip that well but it sucks and this guy deserves all the heat he gets on this thread.

Glad you like the kit let me know if you need any support, or have any Q's.

So you're doctoring the signal from the MAP sensor to fool the ECU into believing that you're not going over 12 psi... where does the extra fuel for 15 psi come from, exactly?

ZKeller and ZeroR have now summed up my feelings on Steven and what is currently going on with Skip, so I think I will get back in here a little. Its interesting that Steven can't answer any real question here isn't it. He hasn't supported anything he says. Do you think Skip would present things this way? All Steven is doing (and has done in his previous posts here) IMO is undermining Skips experience and ingenuity. Regardless of what anyone thinks of how much Skip and KD should or shouldn't be making on the device, unless we get some real proof that Steven didn't just take a concept that we know was Skips and run away with it--he does not deserve anyones support or business.

Jim, I didn't go into depth with Skip on that detail.

I see if he's willing to share that with me next week.

Sounds to me like, once again, he doesn't know what the **** he is talking about.

Batman: You don't know anything about this "device", your numerous post on this and other threads is clear proof of your complete and total lack of knowlege, so stop wasting bandwith by posting responses to everyone else's posts that don't make any sense; it's clear that you have ABSOLUTLY NO IDEA WHAT THE **** YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

so why not just rig up the trailing plug to shut off at a given boost level? that way you still get the emissions benefit and it should burn off any carbon. then when you boost up you also don't have to worry about detination.

Was it not Mazda that came up with this device in the first place? I would say skip and Steven copied it off what Mazda started years ago.
I know for a fact that the responses in this thread is the reason Skip didnt mass market it to the public. Once the cat was out of the bag, he was not going to be able to charge $500 for the thing.

Nick.

I don't have all the information, but certainly more than the average person that didn't even speak to KDR and/or PG.

If I want to share what I have then it's certainly ur option and that of others to take it as u like.

So what do u understand about it from what u've read from other folks responses?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the trailing plug would foul out from not being fired.

That's the best way I can describe it.
