Sry not to be an *** but I have had less problems with my Rotary than any Piston driven car that I own. 3 moving parts in a Rotary over at least 40+ in a piston engine and the Rotary has reliability problems? Every car/engine has its drawbacks to say one is better than the other is retarded. All I am saying is that the RX-7 was designed for a Rotary not a Piston.

 

IVE BEEN THROUGH ABOUT 15 MOTORS AND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU TELL ME WHEN YOU CAN BOOST 25PSI IN A
ROTARY ON STOCK SEALS AND STOCK INJECTORS YOU CANT BECAUSE IT WILL POP LIKE A BALLOON!
ON THE 1JZ STOCK HEADS STOCK BOTTOM HALF! 25PSI LIKE NOTHING ALL DAY WITH OUT THE WORRY OF BRAKING SOMETHING
ALL IM SAYING IS WHEN YOU GET IN AN RX7 WITH A ROTARY THE ONLY THING YOUR THINKING ABOUT WHEN YOUR ABOUT TO RUN IS I HOPE I DONT BRAKE SOMETHING !!! AND YEAH OVER 40 MOVING PARTS THAT CAN BE REPLACED WITHOUT REBUILIDING THE ENTIRE MOTOR AND HAVING TO SPEND 5000 ON A NICE REBUILD! SO TO EACH HIS OWN IVE BEEN DOWN THE ROTARY PATH.

AND SORRY TO TELL YOU THAT THERE ONLY GOOD FOR A SHORT BURST !!!

you definately made the right choice. Your car is beautiful in ever aspect. I would really like to talk to you alittle more about it if you have some time PM me, i have a few questions.

 

That FC is SO well-done. I give you MAD props.

If I overheard someone within walking distance say "Man, what a f-ing loser, taking out the awesome rotary for a sh*tty 1JZ.."

I would probably start a fight, right then and there.

One, the swap looks GREAT. The car looks GREAT. Interior, exterior, engine bay. Talking sh*t about the car visually is just wrong.

Second, it's one thing to be like "Dear God, the APC GT-RRRRRRRRRRRr wing on that Honda Civic looks f*cking retarded."........

But it's another thing to insult someone's hard work, in performing a swap as difficult and unique as this.

Regardless of your taste for or against piston-into-RX swaps....combining a strong I6 with an RX or any type, is a win-win.

Either way, it pisses me off to hear people flat out give you sh*t for doing the swap.

I give the car an A+.

I mean STOCK reliability. Of Course **** is gonna break with more power. You didn't say anything about running high boost numbers. Yes, if you put it that way a Piston engine is more reliable when running higher boost.

Apparently you are new to the world of rotaries. Felix Wankel developed the rotary engine, he did not invent the RX-X name.


Nice clean swap, I just don't like the exterior of the car. I prefer OEM body lines.

 

I know what Wankel did. He created the Rotary engine. Mazda just perfected his design. I was using him as an example. But, if you want to get technical about it. Wankel did not Tell Mazda to use this engine in their car. It is called RX-7 for a reason and with out a Rotary well it is just a Mazda 7. I am done arguing. CUBA6942 you have a great car. If you want to use a Different engine in your Mazda then by all means do it. Post some vids when she is done
