Hampton Roads (SE Virginia) Rotary Club
HR404 and I were at the autocross last sunday in Pungo. I was stunned that we were the only two 7s to show up. We're both planning to be at ACU4 next week, so come on out! I'm going to try to make the AIK event, but if I want to race on SUnday, I have to get all the house stuff done first! Here's to a 1/2 day Friday!

Never seen that liscence plate. Randy's is white hot. *shrug* But I did see a sweet *** black Turbo II outside gate 15 at Norfolk Naval Shipyard today. Wish I knew who that belonged to. Other than that, I've seen a blue FD with silver stripes, and 4 FC's, which are red, white, silver, and the black T2. Also saw one blueish silver FB, like Calvin's. Not sure what trim, I think it was an -SE. Anyone know any of these? I told the guy with the white one about us, he's got 2 FCs.
I've seen the blue FD with the stripes before. He actually lives in my neighborhood, or did, I havent seen him around in a long time. Word is the car is modified to some extent, but I havent heard too much

To run at AIK, it costs about $20 I think. If you pay $25 for the membership, it includes one race and they give you the head sock. If you use their helmets you have to use a head sock. To buy one costs $2 I think. If you use your own helmet you don't have to get a head sock. Your helmet has to be a full face helmet though.
If you are a member races are $17 each. So basically after 3 races you are money ahead if you get memebrship. The membership is good for a year. So if you enjoy this enough that you think you will run 3 times over the next year get the membership. It is addicting enough that I find it hard to imagine that we will not want to make this at least an occasional club outing. We'll see what you guys think.
Directions:
From Peninsula come across Monitor Merrimac, follow I-664 until it meets up with I-264, and take I-264 towards Portsmouth (stay to the left when the interstate splits). Go 2 more exits on I-264 to Victory Blvd exit. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp. Follow Victory to the light immediately after the train tracks, and turn left (onto Airline Blvd). AIK is about a mile down the road on the right, in a building that used to be a department store.
From Norfolk/Virginia Beach come through the Downtown Tunnel (one nearest to Waterside/Harbor Park). Go straight out of tunnel onto I-264, and follow it to Victory Blvd exit. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto Victory. Follow Victory to the light immediately after the train tracks, and turn left (onto Airline Blvd). AIK is about a mile down the road on the right, in a building that used to be a department store.
Don't forget 4:00PM Saturday.

Dittos of everything Randy said. It great meeting some of you guys I had not met before. Karts were great fun, but I was slower than I had hoped. We went out for good pizza, subs and beer afterwards.
Sunday was also pretty good at the TSCC autocross. We had 5 RX7's out there with 4 of them being First Gens. There was Jimdog, Lovintha7, HR404 and me in first gens, and dbgeek in his 2nd gen. I haven't seen results, but I think Jimdog was the fastest of us. Event was pretty good with a large turnout and all the $$$'s from the event going to the Christmas Joy Fund. It looks like HR404 is starting the repainting process for his car. I need to take a hint.

If it was a first gen CRX driven by the teacher, I spoke with him last week, and saw him run yesterday. Come to think of it, he mentioned that the CRX was being neglected in favor of another car...
