My GSL-SE project

Ok, i thought i would let you all in on the status of my project. and let you see some pics... I am putting a TII Engine in my 84 GSL-SE with a FD upper intake &TB. I am also putting in a TII Tranny, aluminium radiator & intercooler. I will be using a Haltech e6K & a T04 60-1 turbo. I think i am going to start off with a 90 TII turbo & intercooler untill i can scrap up some more money.

So here are the pics of the parts so far i have.. All i need now is the haltech....

Picture of car:

New engine 1

New engine 2

Well let me know if you have any questions & what you think.... I am looking to put down ~ 400RWHP on pump gas.

Stop it, your making me jelious. I'm doing the same thing to my '83, all my goals are the same as yours except I'm shooting for 325-350 to the wheels. In the prosess of removing the old 12a now, just swaped over the whole int from a -SE (the good gray stuff) except I left the 83 dash because I know how much of a PITA that is to replace and it isn't cracked. I was supprised how good it turned out, didn't know if teh black dash would look right with the gray everything else. Also going to swap out the 12a crossmember for a -se one that I have laying in the garage, hope fully my springs and shocks will get here sometime this week so I can rip out the 12a stuff and bolt in the -se front and rear suspention, then it will be time to order my engine and trans!

Man I can't wait till spring.....

Why don't you just eliminate one of the projects by putting the 13bt in your 79. Thats my goal someday, to have a turbocharged widebody

setzep: Funny you say that i was thinking that today...

THe only problem with this is my 79 has no interior & i want a nice car for the street.. And my 3rd gen is expected to be fast so it isn't as fun.. I am trying to trade it to some guy for a 76 RX-3 SP with a 13bt t04 tech2 setup.. it has a full interior roll cage & ford 9" in back...

If i get the RX-3 i will not do my SE and just work on the 79 & WRX...

I know exactly what you mean about the 3rd gen already being fast and not being as fun as the 1st gen thats why im doing my conversion. But I still dont think I will ever get rid of my 3rd gen because it looks cool! Nice pics of the car and engine. I was thinking of puting a 3rd gen upper intake or a cosmo one on my TII engine. Did 3rd gen one bolt right up or did you have to modify the holes? From the pics it looks like you are still using the stock lower half of the TII manifold.

Yep, stock lower half.. Al you do is port match the lower intake and round out 2 of the bolt holes on the upper intake.. Really pretty easy..

You also have to block off some stuff on the FD throttle body..

This mod is really nice because it cleans up your intercooler piping & flows better.. IT also looks sweet...
