Peeling, dirty, etc. DOesn anyone have pics of some like perfect condition stock wheels. Maybe I should just get a new set of stockers. I forgot what clean wheels looks like! Oh yeah, pictures with a red FD are preferred but any pics will be greatly appreciated! Thanks alot!

oh, as a FYI Rishie weighed the the stockers and the ssr on a regular scale

16X8 stock, s-02 pole position 225/50-16 - 37 pounds
17X9 SSR GT1, AVS-I 255/40-17 45 pounds

Yup, that sounds RIGHT! My then-new SSR Integral A2s, 9 x 17, 45-mm offset mounted with 255/40-17 AVS Intermediates weighed 45 pounds also. My old Pirelli P-Zero Asymmetricos 225/50-16 on 8 x 16 SSR Integral A2s, 38-mm offset weighed 36 pounds. Glad to know our measurements are CONSISTENT!

The SSR GT1s look kick-***! I love how the spokes bow outward! Great choice ttb! If you didn't tell me your GT-1s were 17s, I'd have guessed 18s...they look so huge on the car!!

Damn, I looked at the pics again...SUHWEEEET! I just love the classic 5-spoke design on the FD Rx7. The GT-1's double spokes give the look a unique character. I bet the bright silver paint looks fabulous in person...doesn't begin to compare by looking at these pics!!!

Damn...I may have to get a set of those GT-1s for my summer road wheels, and demote my 9 x 17, 45-mm SSR Integrals (with 245/40-17 Hoosier R3S03s), for track use huh???!!!

Holy **** THaT's what I plan to order. Except 18"ers
Can you get a shot from side view of the whole FD. Also I thought those SSR GT1 are brushed clear coat.
Can they be ordered brushed clear coat?

Anyone else out there with these wheels (SSR GT1) strike your best pose of your FD please!

Thanks ttb for the post. I can't wait to order mine.

Ahh. The SLEEPER FITMENT is Alive... Representin' the sleeper on the West Coast. hehe.

It looks amazing. I had these on my Protege5 but the spokes didn't curve like those. Really is nice. I agree with you manny they look huge in comparison to other five spokes on the FD. I'm positive it's cause of the curve. Makes for a longer spoke.

Thanks ttb,

Rishie

Stay with 9 x 17, 45-mm GT-1s

Why bother with the extra weight of the 18-inch diameter GT-1s, when the 17-inch GT-1s look SO GOOOD! I have to guess the GT-1 and Integral weigh 19 lbs in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset...That's light for a road OR track wheel!

from what i've heard from everybody 17s is the best compromise of looks and performance for the streets. i think with 18 your sidewall is going to be very thin, ie, not good for pot holes and rough roads. i've seen an fd with 18 gt3, not sure what tires he was running but imho it looked too big. our fd's are small to start off with, so i think 17s look great.

ttb,

What can I say...the SleepR1 fitment becomes you

Seriously, your car looks so sweet. You will be happy with the setup whether road or track. The handling around turns are perfectly neutral (like it should be with same size tires all around), except with MORE cornering potential. The 255s aren't so big that the steering feel is lost. Rotating tires are a plus too

I hope you're happy with the setup, I would be
