-Pull engine in spring to determine why I have been seeing metal in the oil.
It has 166,000 miles. The family never found the records when owner went to nursing home. Which surprised me as its so clean, he must have really took care of it. It must have new apex seals, it blows not smoke, uses no oil. Minor wear to the seat piping, and clear coat on the wheels could be re-done. All original paint etc... no rust anywhere. Drives like new.
Bought from original owner in Sept 2017. All original car.
That is absolutely amazeballs. Almost a dead ringer for my car when i bought it 18 years ago. I wish i kept it stock these days. Its a noisy pig and a handful.

A common experience. As you get older your perception and attitude change. Before you know it, your acting like your parents. Back in my 20's I always thought it would be so cool to install a IMSA style wraparound rear spoiler. I've always liked the look and still do. It's just a few holes that could always be welded back up, but I never could bring myself to drilling into the back of my car. Today, I'm so glad that I never did it.
Nothing wrong with a stripped down racing clone or highly modified vehicle, they will always stir the soul. But now, I'd rather see those things done to cars that have already been modified. Stock is special too. I especially like the old Rx-7 Club of America sticker in the rear quarter glass.

you said a mouthful. On my third FB. Two in the 80’s and my third in 2005. Here she is today! Thank you to the previous two owners that kept her this clean so I could enjoy the splendor of near stock!!
See gasoline fill up records, interesting - 26 and 28 MPG ????? I think that's impossible. Or he must have drove it VERY carefully.
It's possible, I remember checking my mileage on long trips when I was stationed in CA in the early 1990's and I was getting 26-28 mpg on the highway depending on A/C use with my 85 GSL-SE back in the day. Not so much nowadays though.

I have 124k on mine. Drove it from Savannah to my home in Lillington NC and got 27mpg doing 70mph most of the time. No AC on but I remember being quite impressed that it would get that good a mileage being a Wankel and being older. Not that I care a rats behind about mileage but it’s a clear indicator that something is going right inside the engine bay.
Edited and cropped a random pic. Also an old one of mine and my dads. Mine is original paint, my dads has been painted original gold. Both cars around 70k miles.

Lots of fun driving them together.
As it is currently.
Running some old school Cheviot 4x110 wheels.
ahh yes with “rubber duck” antennas! Had one on mine in the 80’s. Nice 7’s !!
