also ordered up my t3 weld on front coilover setup, tokico adjustable inserts, t3 camber plates and bearing plate, built my own version of t3 rear coilovers, purhcased my rims... xxr530's in 17inch... fronts are 7in wide rears are 8.25in wide... its gonna be a squeeze...

also started working on the brake bracket for my tII caliper adaption... also made centric rings for the rotors to help located them better

Had also painted the dash and rear seats... the rear seats are already showing so Im not sure how they will hold up... more detailed painting needed...

Little bit by little bit each night..

Put together my rear coilover setup, front coilover setup, turned down the shock shaft to fit t3 camber plates, made some roll center spacers on the flowjet, sandblasted and painted some parts.. Lots of little things gradually make it all fall together..

Decided to sandblast and paint the front end parts seeing as Im in there doing the coilovers etc.. Also picked up a Racing Beat front swaybar locally...

So the boys and I worked on it this weekend...

Also had my oldest daughter working with me on the coilovers..

Ordered up new inner and outer tie rods just to have all fresh stuff up front.. Also ordered front poly bushings and swaybar links with poly bushings. A buddy has a spare rear set he is giving me...

Next is to pull the rearend, sandblast it and repaint it.. Clean the rear all up...

Looks really great! That sandblaster makes quick work of the rust, doesn't it? It's awesome that you have your kids working on it with you - they'll remember that forever.

Little more achieved the last few days... Almost got my brake adapters done... Rear end sandblasted and painted... Just a couple of tweaks to do on the adapters and it will all fit right...

adapters done.. I may redo some design on it to allow mounting of 4 pots to stock brakes.. on the gslse... maybe.. I may also have to take these of once more and take about .05" off the tabs to offset the better calipers.. the ones it currently works on I milled flat on the backs of the mounting tabs without thinking the process thru.. doh... was rushing to do it... realized few weeks later when I slowed down and rethought prospects of making kits for sale for bolt ups etc..

I am also thinking about what route to go in the rears.. seeing as calipers are near impossible to find I may go aftermarket or later model 2 pots and make adapters for those too...

had put the build on hold for a few months due to a large tax bill.. gotta feed the lazy...

anyways FIL passed away and the wife got some money so she gave me some as a way to build the car and honor her dad with it..

will update soon.. just getting parts together right now...

am on the hunt for front reclining seats.. may go ebay or something depending on whats left in budget.. sad as I have near mint gslse seats but theyre brown... may throw them up for sale

Nice tires I've got the same. You'll have a blast on them they stick like glue.

Did you go with 15" or 16" wheels?

whats the plan for the rear fenders? Flaring stock fenders enough to fit the wheels or installing aftermarket flares?

Next up as to roll fenders and try to get a little stretch in them..

Im not a fan of flares typically so we will see.. Ill step down a tire size before flares..

Besides the suspension barely moves

its been a while.. just been tinkering away at it...

rolled the fenders some... got a little stretch in the rears...

cut and shut my intercooler.. it was too big as it was from an Fd3s and the rails are wiser... soe made it fit as it wasnt in the budget to buy a different one and I cant be bothered with all the #&^&^*@ who tell you they will buy stuff then never follow thru.. so screw them I just cut your part up haha....

anyways...

just need to weld some brackets onto the intercooler and its mounted... got to figure where to mount the oil cooler... ordered up a radiator so will figure the oil cooler when thats mounted...

A buddy was meant to come tonight but his wife had other plans.. I guess being his bday was yesterday she had people coming over tonight... so I built my exhaust instead and sent him updates during the night teasing him that it couldve been his system being built... we are doing the same thing only mine is 3inch tubing his will be 2.25.. as his is just a 12a..

Im sure there are some other things Ive forgotten.. but oh well... cut
and
shut

Had my helper... I have 4 kids and this is my 2nd.. she is 12 and always comes out to help.. she also will get the first drive in the car... which she mistook as she will get to drive the car when she gets her license... we will see

dp etc came with the engine when I bought it.. decided Id modify the dump tube but need to get some ss tubing this week
when you are building your own exhaust and you have all sorts of cool tools at your disposal.. why not flowjet out your own flanges... and make them rotor shaped while youre at it
custom tailshaft
building the system...
almost done

ignore the tires... had to put weight in the rear so when I use a pole jack on the axle it would weigh the car down and not lift allowing me to get the axle up as high as I could and build the system to clear it...

thanks

you and me both haha

there are cheaper ways of doing this.. Im about $14K into the build so far but Ive also done all new suspension, new interior, and accessories.. its just a matter of figuring out the wiring to get it to run then, do bodywork and paint then assenble.. done

at least another buddy has made a couple of trips down to hang out and sort wiring..

so moving forward again

so a few buddies are coming tomorrow.. DreaminRotory and a couple of other guys..

some words have been thrown around.. like... if all goes well maybe we could fire it up...

yeah I will literally pee in my pants if that happens tomorrow...

So due to getting closer my 3 older kids hung out in the shop with me and and started prepping for body work...
