Big brembo evo8-10 brakes on a FD

Well after a test at the track finally i finish my brembro big brake kit for my fd 17"wheels 350mm Racing Brakes Evo X rotors The are raceproof , no fading at all 100% happy with them
Plus to compensate them i install the 929 master brake cilinder and the Mustang gt500 rear brakes

I calculate the force of the brembo pistons and the difference in the torque so i change the rear one with a bigger piston diameter , i do the math and the gt500 rear brake rotor diameter and piston diameter match everything, i was pure luck that i found it , and even better that e-brake works with a minor mod
Lots of hour on Internet getting different oem diameter pistons and rotors , cause i want to keep the e-brake
I was amaze how easy was to fabricate the braket for the rear ones thou

And about $300 on the rear
I found a used gt500 rear brakes with calipers and rotors for $140 (really cheap) and the ware use it about 2000miles
I think that the 929 master cilinder was about $150
I dont know the difereence in weight but the rotors ware a bit more , the front ones , and the calipers way more (front ones also)
The rear ware about the same
would be interested in hearing/seeing more about the GT500 rear brakes. What was the piston size? what was needed to mount it? You using stock size rotors or the GT500 rear rotors?

I only make the center rotor hole bigger, and i made a adaptor braket for the calipers
I think that there ware 42mm the gt500 rear caliper piston diameter but in not 100% sure
The awesome part is that the e-brake was very easy to install and i think that i made a really easy mod only to ware the e-brake cable is attached to the chassis and thats it
I did this long time ago , but cause i was living at Finland i did not have the opportunity to test the car on the track , till one week ago
By the way Im a Chilean

E-brake works better than the oem mazda one now

And then make the adaptor to the rx7 hub Plus you need to open the center hole of the rotor a bit to fit in You need to turn the calipers a bit down to fit them , and the adaptor is very tricky but it can be done I recomend to take the hub out and do it outside the car Not easy not cheap but the resoult is amazing I also change the brake lines for the goodrige ones , but i dont remember the reason , as i remember the hose tread was the same

Here's my question and I know this is an old thread but I just discovered that the brake rotor offset of the 2015 mustang eco boost Performance package is 64mm only 1mm off from the original fd and FC brake rotor and it's a 350mm rotor as well. That would push back the caliper around 3/4in toward the inside compared to the evo x rotor possibly making the caliper be able to bolt up like the stock caliper.... any thoughts? I might experiment with this when I have money to play with.

Could be , i need to check it out , I haved a nice EVO X rotors and EVO 8 calipers (or 5 ,they are the same) so that why i fit them.
As i remember it could hit something if you change the rotor off set.
But i have the car without the tires right now so I can check it out

I think that you should not have problems with the rotor but will be hard to fit the evo 8 caliper
Cause matching the caliper mounting point with the Mazda hub caliper fitment with the braket was tricky
But as i tould you better use the viper caliper , they use the same front and rears and you can find the rear ones quite cheap at ebay

Some photos so you can see better , the bracket was really tricky to made i guess that with other rotor offset will be quite hard to do it , but if you buy the Viper Calibers should be not problem , i attached a photo of the viper that have the rear brake callipers that are the same of the front , if you but the rear ones used , they are cheap and they are the same that use the EVO front ones but easier to make the bracket.
