Here is a picture showing them with a harness:

what's that in?
Also notice that the cutouts for the shoulder harness has sort of a rubber grommet to protect the cf? I'm sure that's how they come.

THIS.

I was just coming on here to ask this question.

If you look here it has the dimensions for the FX1 and the FX1 pro. The pro is 1/2" thinner at the shoulders, 2" at the bottom and 1.5" in the middle.

This seat looks like a steal at the price.

also, the bride zeta III is listed as fitting, but if you look at this digram of its dimensions, it's bigger than the fx1 pro barely at the shoulders...

I was doing measurements with the dimensions of this seat and the dimensions inside the FD, and from what I've seen, the seat will fit with slight trimming at the wing.

Unfortunately, I have door bars in my FD, so I would have to cut off close to the entire wing (2-3") in order to get this seat to fit. I'm going to measure for that tomorrow. If I can get away with less than 2" of cutting on the wing, I'm going to purchase one to see how it fits. As far as getting a seat with wings, I'm SOL, unless I trim:

Does anyone else have door bars with aftermarket seats? Someone with a Raceshop 6 point will have the same/similar height as I do - anyone?

If someone would be so kind and give me the stock seat dimensions, I could come a little closer to seeing if this seat fits. A picture with dimensions similar to this:

I'd really rather not trim at all if possible. Maybe some down by the inside console if need be. I just don't see it looking nice after. How do you get the fabric to stay back over the edges after you've pulled it off? In the standard FX1 install thread posted in here a couple pages back, it looked like just the little "curl" was removed which seemed pretty small. so I'm hoping that extra 1/4" or so on each side might be enough.

What sucks is I can't go sit in any of these seats to see if I can maybe get away with skinnier ones because I don't know anyone with aftermarket seats...

^^ I know the feeling. I would really like to sit in the seat before investing lots of $$$.

Has anyone seen, heard about the quality of NRG seats? They have been an up and coming company over the past several years and produce a nicely priced Carbon Fiber seat. The small version is only 19.5" at the shoulders and 19" at the thigh. Although, it is not FIA certified.

Intersting. I'm going to look into those. All their other products are first class. Most people choose their engine dampeners and especially quick release hubs over the more expensive sparcos etc. because they work better.

FIA certified really isn't a big deal at all. Although with one, you know the seat will be good. Without, it's up in the air.

Well from what I have read about the FX1, they come in two sizes. The Pro which is the smallest one is designed for a 36 inch waist and the regular for a waist of 38.

Their quick releases are definitely top notch.. And I have a set of their cam lock safety belts and they are well put together and the release is super smooth. The only part of the seats I am not really liking is the pillow head piece. Its kinda cheesy... Please post here if you look into them further or get a chance to see any in person.

Back in the day, I remember people either modifying their stock rails, or buying a new set and getting an extra inch or so of headroom out of their cars.
I searched, but can't find anything.
Anybody heard of this?

Those non winged CF seats are made by Tillet. They make karting seats and were the seats in the G that went air borne at the Mile last October. Needless to say they are good.

Corbeau makes awesome seats that we don't get here. You'd have to order them out of England.

Does any one knows if Status seats will fit?

Man, i've always been a fan of Cobra seats.. I was planning on going with the Racer Pro seats for my fd.. but maybe i'll be getting one Racer pro and one of these for my passenger side if they fit...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think 22 is just about the limit for rubbing on shoulder bolsters..but thats off the top of my head.. I used to know as well. But these seats look gorgeous!

Why the new user name, Rick?

Those Cobras are one of my favorite also. I like the one in the P-car. Those Cobras are almost worth modifying to fit. Just need to see if they would clear the *****.

If the measurement from **** to the other side is 430mm then the base will fit but if it is 550mm then it will not fit. The OEM seat front seatbelt buckle to the other side is about 18 1/2 inches.

I changed my user name because I needed something easier to remember and shorter. I was tired of the old one and I didn't like being called honda

I like Status and Corbeau (UK version not US) seats but being overseas I'll have to settle for anything that fits and have decent quality.
